Who else is very excited about this team? Granted--this is just the beginning, but doesn't this remind you a LITTLE bit of 1999-2000?

I'm sorry if this is a little offtopic, but I just ate a couple pomegranades and my mouth is a little sore.

Back to topic, I'm definitely excited about these hustling Kings. Very impressive

ugh... define excited. the players are taking turns doing the things that we expected them to do anyways. one night its beno the next night its hawes, tonight it was sergio. when they all play well in the same game for a week or two then i'll be excited about this team. until then they are just the team with potential that i like... and post about on the internet. lol...

go kings... .500 twice in one season. this is so awesome.

Am I excited about this team? Oh, hell yes. There's a buzz around Sacramento that hasn't been around for a long time. There are people talking about the Kings nearly everywhere you go...

Quite frankly, if the whole idea of having a young team with potential, heart and hustle and a coaching staff that gets it and wants to make the team better doesn't excite you, I'd be wondering if you have a pulse.

There's every reason to be excited about a team that's turned a corner and appears to be headed back in the right direction. If you're a sports fan, this is the time you look back on fondly and remember as "That's when it started..."

I LOVE THIS TEAM!

Am i excited about the kings?
of course i am
i like how this team plays on the court together. it seems that
they have a lot of camaderie and friendship
which is a very good thing :)

It's pathetic that it took until the end of December to get our eighth win last year. What an awesome turnaround for this team in which I give FULL PROPS to our new coach! I am starting to look forward to every single game, and I haven't been able to say that for a very long time. Man, what a great feeling!!!!

WOW. I'm not excited but this is so awesome, to paraphrase another post.

Anyway.

Hell yes this is exciting, after the horror that was last season, to see a team on the rise with potential, direction, toughness, hustle, and HEART.

I was all set to sit back and wait for next years draft before the season started, but with the way the season has started, Tyrekes play, all the new players fitting in and buying in to Westphal's system. It's been great.
It's good to see floor burns instead of hangnails.
I know we haven't got in to the meat of the schedule yet, but it is exciting to see hustle all the time.
Their record may or may not stay near what it is tonight, but that's not so important this year. They are giving effort with a capitol F. That's what is important.
So wear your purple and black proudly and cheer loudly. The future is looking better all the time.:)

I'm excited. The process of getting back to the playoffs will be a fun one to watch, whether its this year or next. But maybe, some of you in sac will start going to the games and supporting the team.

In 16 games we have had 7 different high scorers. That's pretty exciting.

Are there any other teams in the league that can say the same thing?

Took the Kings until the end of December last year to notch 8 wins. Wwaaaay more excited about this team!:)

You bet. I know the chedule has been relatively easy and there will be tough games ahead, but I'm really excited to watch these young guys play like they mean it. We have some hungry players again. :)

I was watching nba.com tv and Steve Smith and Dennis Scott were on there talking about a team's (forget which one) upcoming schedule and they play the Kings in the next week. Smitty's comment was to the effect of "....(they) better bring their "A" game against Sacramento cuz those boys are playing tough and bringing it to you for 48 minutes......they can't just be overlooked anymore......they're legit now with Evans and JT and Greene playing under Westphal" basically just gave us a lot of praise. It was great to hear.

Stop being in denial, you're excited.;)

im happy that we have a winning record again but i dont know about excited. we all knew going into the season that november was the easiest month of the season. i expected this to happen so im not really excited about them doing what i expected them to do this month. if they do it again in december then i'll be excited.

So were you the one person who voted no? You are the one person in Kings land in Lala land who is not excited the Kings are fun to watch again? Tough crowd.....

Being excited is an emotion. You know, like the excitement I feel everytime you post. Its a human feeling. It doesn't need defining. You either feel it or you don't. Now I'll admit that there are different types of excitement. If someone points a gun at me. I'm excited. Not the kind I prefer. If a beautiful woman smiles at me, I'm excited. Much better. The Kings win three in a row and are at 500 again. Also excited. I still prefer the beautiful woman, but the 500 isn't bad.:)

You know, generally that would NOT be a good thing. It would be an indication fo ateam that did not have a star and a team that did not know itself. The myth of wanting some 10 man rotation is just that, a myth. Its basically never won. Certainly not a 10 man rotation of scorers (the old Bad Boy Pistons used to go 9-10 deep, but half of them were defensive roleplayers).

In any case though, this season, for us, that HAS been a good stat -- we have had a player avergaing 30ppg over the first 5 games, and we have had another score 20+ in 8 of 9 games, and yet still we are getting contributions form other peope across the board. Its one thing if you have 7 different leading scorers because nobody on the team is good enough to score more than about 15. Its quite another when you've got a guy scoring 20+ every night, and on any given night any number of other guys are stepping up to help and even exceed those numbers.

well the poll question was if we were excited about the team, not that we are .500 again. im excited about the fact that they are .500 and i thought that they could do it. but being only 16 games into the season that isnt something to do backflips over. if they do it again in december then i will be excited because they wouldve surpassed my expectations. we have 15 games in the month of december, we can meet or surpass last seasons win total by the end of the month. i would be excited about that. we would have to win 9 games out of the 15.

thats 17-13 by january 1st... thats a change that i can believe in. thats something to be excited about... not being 8-8 against lottery teams. we couldve beaten houston and memphis, we wouldve ended november 10-6... thats something to be excited about. we beat the teams that we were supposed to beat at home and split with the teams that we all thought were just as good as we are, okc, memphis and houston... utah (9-7) is the best team that we've beaten so far this season and they were the only team that we beat on the road. we lost every other road game, okc, noh, sas, houston, dallas and memphis...

thats not me being negative, thats me looking at a .500 team thats won only one road game and saying, "so what?" beat a good team and we can have a any questions thread....

i was one of the first people to vote in the poll, not that its any of your business but no... i voted maybe, whats it to you...

I think most people are talking about expectations. You expected the Kings to be at 500 right now, good for you. I didn't, so there. Obviously it take less to excite me than it does you. I bet your a lot of fun at a surprise birthday party thrown for you.:D

Hmmm, getting a little sensitive are we? A little dent in the armor perhaps? Did we get up on the wrong side of the bed? :D

This team won 17 games last season. 17! And if anyone thought they would have almost HALF that total by the end of the first month belongs somewhere special. I would believe that nobody in their right mind EXPECTED the Kings to be .500 at the end of their first month, we all had high HOPES, but an EXPECTATION of a 17 win team with no major offseason acquisition and no returning superstar from injury to turn it around like that? Certifiable.

Right now, the Kings are on pace to win 41 games. That is an improvement of 24 games, more than double their win total of last season. Thats is phenomenal, not many teams in history have been able to have a one season turnaround of that magnitude. And most, if not all, were due to the team having a star go down with injury for the whole season or a superstar being acquired for dirt, not due to a solid draft and coaching signing.

Realistically, this team will approach .500 but still fall short by about 5-7 games, theoretically DOUBLING their win total of the previous season. I'm a Kings fan, homer at times but realistic for the most part. I predicted this team could win 30-35 games. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that they could be looking like they will surpass even that but the way they are playing it is highly possible.

Now for someone who is as pessimistic as am27, someone who is as vocal about how disappointed with the direction of the franchise, it's front office, it's personnel, to say he EXPECTED the Kings to be .500 at the end of November, not HOPED but EXPECTED, thats interesting. And it's probably why he catches so much flak, because of statements like that and then his overall attitude about the team and how the two don't mesh together, there is no logic to be gleaned.

dude, this is why vf21 advises new members to read archived threads... we had 2 threads, 1 poll where we talked about the schedule when it was first released. since it didnt involve he who shall remain nameless the 2 of us werent arguing in that thread so you might not remember them. i said that we would be around .500 in november because it was the easiest part of our schedule. January and april are the 2 hardest months of the season.

i expected us to beat the bad teams that we beat because they sucked just as much as we did and we were at home for 7-8 wins... our only road win this season was against utah. our only loss at home was atlanta.

its posts like this one that make me scratch my head whenever some here questions if i am a kings fan. like, i so know this team... the difference is, what i want this team to become and what you guys want are 2 different teams. i want them to be a run 'n gun team until we have a real breakout star to build around. all of our player would be best suited for that style of team(hawes could do it but he's a wuss, i know what you guys are gonna say). thats why i wanted he who shall remain nameless, he would be the identity that this team lacks... push the ball, get open and he who shall remain nameless will find you. like, dude... you guys want something totally different.
