Evans twists ankle but will play (updated)

If this is his same ankle, then it is no surpise to me. They should have just given it a little more time to heal. He only missed 1 game. That does not make him injury prone, however, it might make him a bit too eager to play, to his own detriment.

I agree.

Donte just said on Ustream that Tyreke will play tommorow.
Well, that's good news...2 things: Hopefully the ankle is okay to play on, and hopefully he's effective playing on it. No need in risking anything more...Sergio could start if it's iffy, IMO. I'd rather him rest and fully heal.

Jason Jones is an LA transplant who, when I met him, seemed very intent on making sure everyone knew Laker fans are better than Kings fans could ever be, etc. I was not impressed.
Is Jason Jones stupid?? Obviously he is just as plastic and annoying as the rest of the Laker 'fans'(minus Gargy and Hoopsie, of course!).

If Sean May broke his ankle, gravy would come out...

I also hope he is back by Friday. I am taking my kid to his 1st Kings game - and we live in So. Cal!

The snide part of me wanted to make some comment about how long it would be before people started to call him injury-prone. The Kings fan part of me, however, just wants to figure out why the great god Naismith hates us so much.

:(

You dont have to start calling him injury-prone because he is already. It started a the begining of training camp and hasnt stopped.:p

wow i just looked up tyrekes stats and lebrons rookie stats

Lebron

20.9 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 5.9 apg, 1.6 spg, 41 % FG, 29 % 3PT, 75 % FT 39 MPG

Tyreke
19 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 4.8 apg, 1.4 spg, 44% fg, 34% 3pt, 77% FT 35 MPG

Almost identical and LJ got 4 more minutes of play. of course lebrons was in a 79 game span and not a 13 .. but still encouraging signs... and man am i bored.

Man I have tickets to tomorrow, that would really suck if he can't play, yet I don't want to be selfish here, would hate to see something long term develop.

haha this is good

Given that 'Reke drives to the basket so hard and so often I suspect that he will be nursing inuries quite frequently in his career.

Naismith. Kings. Shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence.

It was just a plea to the basketball god (the one we call Naismith). Not anything to get all ruffled up about. Happens all the time, probably every time our star players get injured.

Do you guys remember The Rock turning an ankle twice a season, but playing on it anyway? I hope we have a resilient guard in that vein with Evans.

Why can't Sean May sprian his ankle? (no offense Sean, do not wish you any pain)

Because movement is required in order to injure yourself. ;)

just got this in form of a twitter message

SacramentoKings
Tyreke Evans twisted his ankle in practice today. X-rays taken were negative. He is questionable for the Kings-Knicks game on Wednesday.

It's being reported by Donte Greene on Ustream that Reke will, in fact, play against the Knicks. -- VF21

good...so far Tyreke has twisted his ankle, hurt his wrist...I hope he is not another Kevin. :D

Ditto to the first part. This board is turning into a weird behavioral experiment human behavior. We've turned the corner. We've got a stud in the draft. We've got two young bigs who are only going to get better. Yet, we're acting like all is lost.

As for the second part, the ankle thing doesn't bother me at all. It's a bargain I've made with the Power that Is after the Martin injury - I'll take a couple of ankle sprains if You give me no knees and hamstrings. So far, the deal is being kept...

The backlash from this immature comment should be interesting...

Not sure how this comment is immature. I didn't come here for dimunitive comments, I am just telling it like I see it, and I understand the "Naismith" referred to as a diety, I just don't fly that flag. Thanks for taking time out of your day to respond to me though.

Kings are playing hard ball, but it's not good ball, and the kids have GOT to lower the turnovers, and stop getting in harms way.

I mean, practice injuries? What's next?

Ok, Iverson....

But seriously, your comment implied that the Kings are not worthy to be mentioned in the same breath as the person who created the sport. Thats pretty silly.

I didn't realize my opinion was "silly" and "immature".

Well yeah, kind of, when you say something like the Kings don't deserve to be mentioned with the person who created basketball, like Naismith himself is rolling over in his grave because of the Kings crappiness. Like Naismith was so great, such a revered person that he looks down on high at the Kings and would not want to waste his breath, much less allow them to play the game he created. Thats pretty immature and silly, coming from a Kings fan. It's more like something one would expect from a Laker fan (I'm not calling you one, I'm just saying I could totally hear a Laker fan saying that to a Kings fan, just never thought it would be Kings fan to Kings fan).

Duly noted.

Beno not playing for Kings today. Has a virus. From twitter

Lets see how Sergio does today

This may not be the best thread to bring this up, but this news (Beno being out) is kind of exciting to me. I was pretty happy about getting Spanish Chocolate and really want to see what he can do. I'm feeling 10+ assists (or 10+ should-be-assists).

Or Westphal might start Greene or Casspi at SG and Evans at PG. That way Reke can beat the living daylights out of Duhon and if Mr Pringles matches up Hughes on Reke, then Donte can just keep shooting over Duhon.

My thoughts exactly.
He slices through defenders like a running back. It's kind of hard to not roll your ankle when you're up and the rim and theres 5 guys below you. He needs to wrap the sh*t out of his ankles.
