ESPN Rumor: Brad/Salmons to Chicago?

Ugh. Why are all the deals we're rumoured to be in so crappy? At least get a draft pick. Otherwise it's just pointless, other than to shed salary, which is pretty much only benefiting the Maloofs.

It would give us 8M in cap space next year and only add 1M to our 2010 payroll (I think...not sure about John's option for 2010)

This would be about the most underwhelming trade though from a fan perspective unless that space allowed us to do something else.

What would be the point of that deal? There would be none. But I think maybe we are starting to see the holdup -- we are peddling garbage, and everybody is offering garbage in return. I'd rather just do nothing and then tell Brad to go get high and shoot something, and Salmons to go to his room to pout while they take off the last few months.

i don't think that we need to tell Brad to do these things...he just does them without being asked.
It's funny how Hawes got in trouble for going high, though he does it quite effectively, but Brad can do it all he wants.

The Gooden/ Noc for Miller/Salmons deal works:

but one would imagine the Kings would be in better shape without this deal... Noc has four years after this season left on his deal!

I would rather do something like this, though... if the Kings MUST take back Noc with no picks.

Miller, Moore, Salmons for Noc, Gooden, and Tyrus Thomas or Noah.

Yeah that would definitely be preferred. I don't see why Petrie would do the trade without Thomas or Noah included. But I doubt this gets done because the Bulls will be waiting out the Amare situation

I'd rather have Tyrus than Noah. If we do the first deal, We need picks back for sure.

Plus chicago is trying to figure out a way to resign Gordon, so they wouldn't trade him for our garbage. Beno/Hinrich is a coin flip, Beno is a better shooter, Hinrich plays better defense but it's slight and for a higher contract even though it's shorter length...

he's WAY better than Beno on defense, shooting, passing.. everything.
And Hinrich's contract year shorter and he could be a decent PG for us
until we get real good PG.

No, he's not way better, except on defense. He's as mediocre and perhaps even more overpaid.

Yeah, there are some positives with your trade. He's probably a little better. Is that the best we can really do for Salmons and Brad though? No picks, no rookie contract guys, 1 year less on our lame PG contract? I hope not

John Hollinger: I'm hearing for the first time discussion of the Bulls moving Kirk Hinrich, though the destination is still unknown -- "not Portland," my spy says.

Such a deal makes great sense for the Bulls but it's hard to know who would find his contract palatable in these times.

The Bulls also want to move Andres Nocioni. No surprise there -- the news is that I hear they may actually succeed.

Dear God,
Please, Not Us.
Amen

I dont care what we do
as long as we dont add payroll
as long as we get yet another 1st round pick
in what will be a very deep and pg friendly draft

Say NO to Tyrus "the bust" Thomas.
