Enough with the undersized BS!!

SacTownKid

Hall of Famer
We have a 7'2" shot blocker rotting on the bench. If it is simply a matter of being undersized than PLAY HIM!!!!!! I understand Rick when he said the Warriors are all over the place but give me a break.

Tag's too slow. How's he ever gonna block a shot when he's still slowly running to the other side of the court? He's just too slow.

Tag has been on some strict running drills these past few weeks but I'm not sure if that'll add to more pt

In or out of shape, Tag enters the game, the layup drills stop. Hopefully he'll get a chance to prove himself if Skinner can't go for a while.

I think Gregs contributions earlier in the season are being seriously over looked. When he was getting semi-regular playing time he did really well. I just have to get my feelings out b/c I feel Ostertag is being severely underutilized.

Is it just me or have I seen layup drills even when Tag is in there? I personally saw Tyrone lou grab an offensive reb and put it right back over him earlier this year. Last time he played I pointed this out time and time again in the game thread. Dude is just pathetically slow. You guys are acting like Shaq is sitting over at the end of that bench. Maybe he should play some more min, but in the long run is it really going to help that much? Our transition D sucks as it is!

That's just silly -- he got back fine in January, can't imagine he's gotten slower in the 3 months since.

This is just stupidity at some point -- I don't care if he blew up and looked like Oliver Miller, we're getting ruined inside and losing games because of it. Its ridiculous to not even TRY the obvious solution.

Tag > anyone other than Skinner on the Kings as far as protecting the paint is concerned + probably is the best rebounder in traffic.

No its not just you -- then again we've seen them with Brian Skinner in there too. Tag is inconsistent, but when he's on he is a difference maker who has had several dominant defensive stretches for us, out of shape or not. To not even put him ont he floor to TRY to stem the tide in these games is just dumb. You KNOW that the twerps we insist on putting out there can't clog the middle. Not today. Not tommorow. Not in college. Not in high school most likely. Tag at least has a shot.

So what does that make him greater than? LoL... We are so GD undersized it's not even funny. I don't disagree with you guys, but I just really don't think it makes much of a difference in our wins/losses whether Greg plays or not at this point. I could score more on the offensive side of the ball. It's just not worth it, especially when our offense is already broken as it is. We can't keep up with anybody anymore.I know it's frustrating but we just aren't as good as we were thats it.

im very wishy washy on the whole Tag subject...sometimes Im like "c'mon RA put him in there" and then othertimes im like "no way don't even think about bring GO in the game"

i just don't know what to think...i can't fairly access...probably cuz he hasn't played a lot for me to get a really good feel

::shrugs::

I would love to see Tag get a chance to play a few min. tonight, could'nt have hurt much.Tonights game was lost due to LACK OF EFFORT.

but i will agree that is kinda of embarrasing the small line up and all...its rarely worked out

I couldn't agree more! We got to do something ... the definition of insanity is repeating a behavior that isn't working out over and over again. On the other hand, bless RA, its Tag for pete sake ... tough call!

that can't be said for all the players

No doubt, Mike Bibby looked like he would be willing to run through a brick wall tonight if it meant his team would get the win.

Yeah you know what, I think were better off playing Kevin Martin at center. I heard Rick is pondering that move next in order to find yet another way to not play Tag. :D

In all honesty it isn't Ricks fault that the team tonight gave him nothing.

I agree some guys (a couple)brought it,but they ALL need to for this team to have a chance.Peja was simply pathetic tonight.

Whine away but this thread is a compleet waste of bandwith. Adelman has made it clear he will NOT play Tag under any circumstances... might as well complain about taxs.

When I saw Daniels take off his sweats to come in the game it only reminded me of how bad a coach Adelman is.

You can't use the "out of shape" excuse for why Ostertag isn't playing. How many times have we seen Vlade and Webber labor to get up and down the floor and still play their 35+ minutes?

And then he puts in Daniels last night, basically a slap in the face to Ostertag. If you want to talk about guys that are outta shape, it starts with Daniels who has put on at least 25lbs since training camp. When he came in, Jerry Reynolds actually said that he's a good defender/rebounder. That's supposedly what he does. He obviously can't do it on the same floor as Zarko, Murphy or Biendrins.

My first reaction was- who is #15 ?

2 seconds later after making my brain going trough the roster my reaction was - WTF

In the third quarter last night the Warriors scored 20 of their 29 points for the quarter IN THE PAINT while we were "going small". Seems to me that no matter how mad you are a someone the team comes first and you should at least give them the opportunity to make amends. Seems like Tag is this year's Massenberg although Tony certainly deserved some sort of discipline, a good coach puts aside his feelings and gets a player's best if a player can help the team. Tag will be a FA this summer, will leave and go to a team where he will be utilized if for no other reason than he's a big body with experience in the league resulting in the Kings having squandered his salary and roster spot this whole year for nothing. What a waste.

It may have started with the out of shape issue, but there are larger things afoot now. Check out where he is sitting next game.

I was shocked to see Daniels in the game, and it does look like he put on some weight, he looks chunky out there. lol.
