Emeka Okafor

I read a Charlette article where it said Okafor will miss games for any little ailment and does not return until he is 100%, not 99%, 100%. If he wakes up in the morning with a broken nail he will sit out games until his nail is completely grown.

He is undersized, a poor FT shooter, and grossly overpaid. There's a reason why he's being shopped for nothing more than expiring contracts.

And on top of that he has not shown he can carry a team in any fashion, his team has never made the playoff, never.

But he does block shots, rebounds, and he knows his role.

Sadly, this overpaid and undersized dude may be the best big man we can find. I don't think the Kings will trade for him this season but if he's still available in the summer and if the Kings does not land the #1 pick and drafts Anthony Davis, I can see the FO revisit this angle.

I don't see us taking on more salary some how.

And that's kind of the clincher. If we can take Okafor and their first round pick for some combination of our expiring contracts and we don't, it kind of confirms that the team isn't serious about putting together winning product. Okafor is a decent replacement for what we lost with Dalembert, a good piece next to Cousins, and thus an immediate upgrade at the 4. Also, if the Hornets take on JJ and Donte, that may push them down further in the rankings, making their pick that much better for us. An improved chance at Davis/Gilchrist/Drummond/Barnes is worth Okafor's salary.

But the extra salary also means that the Maloofs will not do this.
