Kevin's a good athlete, but not dunk contest good.

Evans on the other hand has the goods. But given that he was basically out of the league two months ago and has only started receiving real playing time in the last week, highly unlikely they invite him. They'll invite young guys, but they're normally established guys who you know will be in the league for the next 3-4 years. Has continuing market value. I think Evans will stick now, but until they are sure of that I doubt they're going to invite a guy to the dunk contest only to see him be a 12th man and disappear before the season's out.

What team is Evans on? I have the game but I can;t find him. He is not on the Kings since it wasn't updated that soon. PLease PM me or post it. Thanks:D

Martin got invited to the Dunk Contest on my dynasty, and lost to Desmond Mason in the Final >.<

Anyway, if him or Evans are still around next year, and people still hear about them I think they have a chance of going.

Evans has hops but I don't think he's flashy enough to win the dunk contest. To win a dunk contest, you need to do something noones ever done before like J-Rich off the backboard through the legs.

Fred Jones won doing relatively boring dunks... I still can't believe he won... His dunks sucked... It's cuz J-Rich failed on his 360 between the legs... He won by default... But in any case... Not only can you get in it by not being real flashy, you can win the damn thing!

Was Gerald Wallace getting anything but garbage time the year he was entered in the dunk contest? It seems to me that established players have no interest in this anymore. The only guys who seem to accept invitations anymore are either trying to defend their title or newcomers in the league. I wouldn't be shocked if Evans is one of the contestants this year.

Big big difference -- Wallace was a first round pick with a contract guaranteed fro 3-4 years. He was also a player who had a fair amoutn of hype about him coming out of high school. In any case, they KNEW he'd be part of the league for years. With a guy like Evans, who's been in and out of the league, played in Europe etc., he's not even clearly an NBA'r yet, an he has no contract security at all. He's basically for all intents and purposes a walk on. Now I think he's got the potential to be a good solid NBA player, but to date he has not been part of the league, and going into camp few thought he would be this year either. The dunk contest really isn't open to just anyone who's ever shrugged on an NBA jersey. Have to be an established part of the league, past or present. Can't think of anybody in Evans' situation who has been invited. Not impossible I suspose, but unlikely

Cold, calculating... and unfortunatly true. On a side note the Warriors announcers tonight were comparing him to Ruben Patterson (in body and play) I think they are right hopefully.

Chris Anderson definitly should of gone on, not Fred Jones. That still bugs me!
