ESPN reporting Griffin to resign with Wolves

ESPN is also reporting that eddie griffin agreed to a 2 year $3.7 mil contract with minni, according to the St Paul Pioneer press... this is under the news section when you click on eddie griffin's stats... usually espn doesn't post info unless they verify it, but i hope they are wrong this time... thank the nba for extending the moritorium for signing FA until Monday or Tuesday, maybe petrie can still steal him away for a reasonable offer i.e 12mil/4yrs contract

Basicly all the rumour is coming from that article in St.Paul Press where a guy made this deep thinking: Minni offered him a contract, nobody else expressed much interest(publicly known interest) - he will sign with Minni ASAP.

Won't believe it till he is signed next monday or after.

I guarantee we don't get Antoine Walker. :)
You know what is really really scary is that we have not heard anything about Walker and his plans in a while that is worrisome to say the least. Since Petrie most of times does not release any info untill the deal is done I am afriad we offered Walker a contract :(

What if it turns out he is the main reason we win the nba title. :)

While he is not my dream get, I would rather have Walker at MLE or $6million, than Thomas for the same money ;)

I am hopin Petrie is working on a trade that will get us Kirk Hinrich and a stud PF for Bibby and someone else.

Didn't he bury four killer threes (or 5-6) against us in one game last year? Those lovable Kings sure bring out the best in guys and their offense. Sure never saw him do it against anyone else. Then again, couldn't stomach watching the Wolves play last year.

If you say he plays defense too, and is "tremendous" as a shotblocker seems like much less than a gamble. Let's call GP.
Yeah thats what I think about everytime I think about EG

His last name could be "Star" if he can stay straight. So maybe yes. ;)
Agreed, his career avg is 8.3 ppg and 6.0 rebs in 24 mins. Last year with the Wolves he averaged 7.5 ppg and 6.5 rebs in only 21 mins. He's not much of a playmaker though, but that's a nice line.

We this desperate?!
Yet the guy hasn't done crap (I don't count standing in a parking lot on your cell phone) since that thing with a woman, which hasn't been a factor for awhile.

I'd love EG on this team.

I was unaware things were so rosy. You mean he hasnt hit a woman or beat a bong of late? Am I supposed to give him 5 brownie points?

Maybe Im crazy but I think one punk on this team is enough.

Guy named Kenny Thomas grabbed 6.6 reb in 28.6min, then he came here and it was 8.7 in 31.7. Maybe it's because Sacramento is a great place that inspired him to be a better player but more likely because Kings were really bad in this part of the game. Many times opponent's offense looked more like layup drills than classic half-court offense. That's why a guy who averaged .25bl in 10 min on his previous team looked like a defensive stud with 1.72bl in 27.8 min(actually his numbers were better before he damaged his thumb). What do you think will be the stats of a player who under new coach in the second part of the season averaged 7.5(1.8off+5.7def) boards and 1.7 blocks in 21.8 min, who every time but one when given at least 30 minutes grabbed at least as many rebounds as KG?

Maybe Im crazy but I think one punk on this team is enough.
You can never have enough of them :) . To be serious I want to hear what bad things Gawan Deangelo(I like his name :D ) Wells did outside of spitting on Denny Ferry and complaining about lack of playing time. Kenny Thomas doesn't want to come off the bench when Songaila is a starter. Is he a punk?

I never said you were supposed to give him anything. Brownie points wouldn't mean anything to anyone anyways, so that was a ridiculous offer.

But yes, he hasn't done anything since the incident in 2003 or whenver it was.

Wells I think will have little problems in Sac, if any at all, the city is good, the coach is good, and he knows Elston Turner from their Portland days. I love the addition of Wells.

"brownie points" is a well-established American colloquial expression.

Brownie point also brownie point n. - An amount of credit considered as earned, especially by favorably impressing a superior. Often used in the plural.
(From the practice of awarding points for achievement to Brownies in the Girl Scouts.)

Well some things reported:

-4 huge blow-ups at Mo Cheeks and threw a water bottle at him once (how can you not get along with Cheeks?) At least one was a tirade at Cheeks during a game. By the way, he spit on Ferry during a game too. That's got to help with the team's focus, right?

-His teammates on his High School All-Star team voted him off the team

-I can't believe (I could be wrong) that Fratello banned him from the building during the play-offs just because he "complained about his playing time." Actually, no reason was ever given.

-spit on fans and flip off fans frequently, besides saying they (players) didn't care if fans came to their games.

From Portland Tribune article:

http://www.portlandtribune.com/archview.cgi?id=21735

Wells, who was traded to Memphis on Wednesday, also had run-ins with the law in both Portland and Indiana. After his sophomore season at Ball State University, he was arrested for domestic battery after a woman accused him of striking her when she refused to have sex with him. Wells was jailed briefly, posted $2,000 bond and was released.
And in September 2001, Wells and another former Blazer, Erick Barkley, were cited by Portland police for criminal trespass after allegedly refusing to leave the scene of a fight near a downtown nightclub. Portland police Sgt. Brian Schmautz said the two shouted profanities at officers who asked them to leave. No charges were filed.

Just peruse the internet. I'm very nervous about this trade and what Bonzi will do, but he's ours now and I'm going to support him unless he proves I shouldn't. (Fingers and toes crossed here.)
