I think it more likely we pull off a three team deal landing Jason Richardson and Linas Kleiza for Reke and the #5, but the above famtasy would make us a much better and better rounded team.

Dalembert + #14 for #12, Brockman, Livingston, Leurer

I like Dally, but that's a solid deal for Houston.

Next shoe to drop? #12 in a package for #5? I wouldn't mind getting Brockman back as a trade filler, either :)

How is that solid for Houston? If they fail in their pursuit they traded a starting NBA center for 2 draft spots and scrubs. Have to appreciate the methodical all in approach Morey is using here though. Not often you see a train coming from as far away as the Rockets maneuvering in the past few days. If he comes up short though its going to be a mess. A couple of decades ago we tried the 4 middling draft picks in one draft route ourselves (Simmons, Bonner, Causewell, Mays). Did not work out. Forget how long Lionel held on, but may have been none of them on the roster 5 years later.

LTrain's knee went out after his 3rd season. Never was the same player, but finished out his contract in 97. Causewell was on the team till 97 as well then played 4 more years in miami.

Well, I think Houston can really only go in two directions right now.

Go after Howard, or rebuild. Either way, they don't need Dalembert and in either scenario #12 is obviously better than #14. I actually think it's a fairly big difference. There seems to be a split after #12. Someone will drop out of the top 10ish players .. and #12 is a good spot to scoop one of those guys up. I'm thinking Henson, Leonard, and possibly Drummond if something nutty happens. And Leuer is alright on short money.

I don't think Houston keeps all the picks anyway. But #12 is a better asset ... if they are going after Howard or a higher pick to keep for themselves and rebuild. Now they are in the right neighborhood with us. Lowry + #12 for #5 is doable. I wouldn't make it if MKG was there, but if he isn't .. I'm still thinking about it. If it was #14, I think I say no.

I liked the Budinger trade too, by the way...I don't view Budinger as anything unique. The Wolves could have found an equal or better SF in free agency and kept their pick. But we'll see if all of this movement amount to anything.

In Causewell's case, your using the word Played, loosely..

The rumor is, and its just a rumor, that they're still trying to lure the Kings out of the 5th pick. Apparently the Kings don't want to move that far down in the draft. Maybe they have a player in mind, and believe he'll be gone by 14. So maybe they think offering 14 and 12 for the 5th might do the deal. If not for the Kings, then maybe Portland or the Warriors. I guess we'll find out soon.
