I can't believe some of you guys are so pessimistic. It's a god send that a player like Robinson fell to us. He wasn't even on my radar because I thought for sure that he would be taken at 2.
We just drafted a team cornerstone for years and you guys are mad that we didn't get an SF with a couple attributes that we need? Sure that would have been nice but we got a more important player. We are going to have two physical beasts underneath the hoop, snatching up rebounds and throwing down high percentage FG's.
One thing we really struggled with was FG% last year and Robinson will definitely bump that up. I wish he was more of a shotblocker but no player out there was complete other than the guy that went #1.
If we can make a trade for a SF that would be awesome. If not then lets get these two monsters their chemistry this year and then grab a SF next year and start contending.
DX compares him to Horford which is interesting. We'll see. More physical version of a young Amare? Griffin with less athleticism but a better shooter/rebounder?
So in the past week Givony has had us trading Tyreke for a bag of potato chips and then told us our draft pick hates the team. Wonderful. We should send him a card.
He's not going to bump our FG% very far unless again he's munching shots. Otherwise you are putting a guy who shot 50% in college into the lineup in place of a guy (Jason) who shot 52% for us last year in the pros. But he should hopefully shoot better than Hickson or Hayes, so we'll get whatever that bump i assuming both he and JT are on the roster.
And for the millionth time Sacramento fans, THE thing we have struggled with for oh, almost a decade now, is DEFENSE. D-E-F-E-N-S-E. As in worst in the league last year defense. I'll cross my fingers and hope Robinson can at least hold his own and maybe do better than that on that end, but he wasn't one fo the defensive game changers in the draft, adn we are too far gone for one solid defender to make much of an impact. Consider the bulk of his minutes will come from minutes that last year went to JT, Chuck Hayes, and Whiteside. How many points better do you think his defense is truly gonig to be than those guys? On the other hand, the defensive rebounding will be welcome. Cousins is a tremendous rebounder, but he's better on offense than defense.
Drummond at 9 is excellent value.
An Amare/Blake griffin type athlete offensively that actually plays defense and rebounds with an unrelenting motor

I don't even know how to respond to you anymore. You're so full of yourself and your opinion that you're bashing a gift from god pick in T-Rob. Judging from your posts, you think he's a offensively selfish player who is a liability defensively. Which is absolutely the furthest thing from the truth.
One question though. Would you rather have Dalembert or Thomas Robinson?
Strengths: Has all the tools to defend his position at a high level in the NBA ... Despite not being a very intimidating shot-blocker, he has been an effective defender against post-up situations ... Moves his feet well enough to stay in front of the more mobile power forwards in the NBA ... Hard worker that has improved noticeably every year at school ...
Ignore it. For some reason, Givony really hates the Kings. I don't know why, but it's bizarre. He regularly takes cheap shots at us and has got lots wrong in the past. Really doubt it's true. Someone should call him out on his BS.
Anybody think Houston, having (apparently) failed on the Howard attempt, might deal something like #18 for Hayes? Maybe we drop some salary and take a look at Harkless?
