Draft Thread

I worry GP will just take someone we worked out. He needs to take a chance on someone that falls. The guys we worked out, apart from O'Quinn maybe, will not make it as NBA players.

Uhhhhhh.. YAH! I watch a boatloat of college games, especially the top teams. I am always parked on the couch with the kitty watching one game or another. I get the full court package every year. Anyway, Robinson can defend. Trust me.

To be clear, he can defend college kids. But how will his size translate to defending your larger 4, like a Gasol or a Randolph. Im hoping he can. Either way he is 6'8 and 3/4

Funny, you dis Jerry Reynolds, who has been around the block a few times more than you YET you tout your own opinions based upon the fact that YOU'VE been around this site a long, long time and have seen it all? Color me unimpressed. Reynolds may not be the best basketball mind but he has worlds more experience than anyone here AND is a part of the organization. That certainly affords him more respect than you or I.

Lastly, I could care less if Jerry Reynolds has said something similar to my opinion. Like you, I have years and years experience following not only the Kings but the NBA in general and that's where my opinion is derived ..not from the words of someone else. And my opinion is just as educated and valid as you think yours is. We just disagree, my friend.

Jeff Taylor, Quincy Miller, Marguis Teague, that Ezeli guy, and that mystery SF Kostas Papanikolaou still on the board.

I hope Taylor or Quincy Miller drops to the Kings.

He's thick and very gifted in a sense that he's not awkward. Meaning once he's set you aren't going to push him out of the way. He's also VERY good off the ball. Finesse players might give him issues for a couple years, but he's definitely a guy that can hold his position against strong PFs.

Think of a guy like Whiteside on someone with those skinny legs. He's going to get pushed around, and Whiteside is very awkward and top heavy.

Now Robinson ion the other hand has big legs and even proportions, very skilled athletically and not awkward at all. He's the type of player that can play defense without even trying.

Oo who's this Papanikolaou guy? I wouldn't mind drafting him, just to have a laugh everytime I say his name.

I'd love to end up with Taylor, Q. Miller, or Ezeli. I think there is a chance we can get one of those three guys.
 
PJIII has a very wide, versatile, but underdeveloped skillset that didn't really improved since he got to Baylor. And now there came question marks about his knee.
 
OKC is the perfect place for PJIII even if he really did have knee issues. OKC can wait for it to heal. Once he's healthy PJIII at 28 could be the steal of this draft, which means OKC will be contenders for maybe a decade more. Wow! This draft is sooo deep.

If you had to be an ex NBA coach or current NBA FO employee to have an opinion,we wouldn't have journalists. Our FO has made a number of mistakes the last 6-7 years and Jerry is a key part of that, like it or not.
 
Sam Presti might be the best GM in the league, especially when it comes to drafting.

Good chance someone promising falls to us, although I suspect there will be a big run on all the guys that were expected to go earlier now. We might get unlucky and have Ezeli, Teague, Miller, Taylor all taken in the next few picks. Would not surprise me. Will be interesting to see who we take.

I think it was either Yahoo or ESPN who reported that the Heat and Thunder are interested in picking this dude in the first round. Supposedly can shoot threes and plays hard, but not athletic. A Nocioni clone?

I really think Taylor and Ezeli could help us next year. Even still if we picked up Taylor I'd prefer him coming off the bench behind a yet to be determined SF. As far as Ezeli, his size and defense would help as a possible 3rd-4th big.
 
The way to know if we've taken Papanikoloau is to see if Stern stares at his envelope for about 4 seconds before announcing it.


With that, Teague is gone. Great pick by the Bulls. The run on the falling prospects has begun.

If we draft Ezeli I don't think there is any way we bring back JT.

If Taylor isn't starting at the beginning of the season, I would expect him to be the starter by the end of it...if we're lucky enough for him to drop.
I wish we'd make a move to ensure that we can shore up our SF hole.
