Draft Stock Watch

Bench
++ Rubio is raising(most likely will go 2 or 3)

++ Evans is solidifying himself as a quality talent and far ahead of Flynn, Holiday and the remaining PG's in the draft.

++ Gerald Henderson, slipping into top 10, the guy is going to be a great role player, he's low risk but isn't going to be a superstar either..

++ Tyler Hansbrough, apparently is invited to the green room, most mocks have him actually going late in the lottery now...I don't personally see him as a lottery talent but he plays with a lot of heart.

++ Earl Clark, looks to be locked into the top 14 now, VERY interesting player to say the least.

-- Hasheem Thabeet, after refusing to workout for Memphis and making it clear he does not want to be there, his stock is really dropping, he was considered a top 4 lock but now is as low as 8 on some boards.

-- Johnny Flynn, didn't do too well working out against Evans and Curry.... now is being projected as a mid first rounder some places....

-- Jrue Holiday, looks like general idea right no is that he is a step behind Rubio,Evans,Flynn,Curry, and Jennings. Late first round?

-- Austin Daye, ouch, some mocks had him as high as 12 while some are now showing him as a second rounder...

Probably want to put brandon Jennings in the negative list... He really needed to blow people away with his workouts and he didn't. Added to all the question marks about his maturity, and his substellar play in Europe, he is going to slide in this draft. Maybe even out of the lottery.

We also don't hear alot of hype about Jrue Holiday anymore, so sounds like he is going to slide out of the lottery as well.

Thabeet isn't going anywhere near #8. Name another 7'3 dude that can run the floor like that. Oh wait, you can't because they don't exist.

Well, some mocks have Monroe, Hill or Lawson going in the top 4. Some mocks were probably written by bloggers with catastrophic head injuries.

Especially considering Monroe's not in the draft. Are you sure that the mock with Monroe wasn't last updated in February?

I for one, am not a fan of 7'3 dudes that didn't dominate at the college level. However, I think he can be a solid role player on a team like okc. He would be asked to do nothing other than alter shots and clean the glass.

I'd be happy with Thabeet at 4 and Holiday at 23. Even happier if Patrick Mills is also picked by the Kings at 31 :).

Holiday isn't going to be there at 23. He's almost definitely going in lottery and if not, he will not fall to us.

I have to disagree with most of your analysis. You had a few hits, but mostly misses.

++ Rubio is raising(most likely will go 2 or 3)
Not really, if anything it is fallen slightly. He was once talked about as the no-question lock to go #2 after Griffin, regardless of need. Now other players are much more in the conversation.

++ Evans is solidifying himself as a quality talent and far ahead of Flynn, Holiday and the remaining PG's in the draft.
Evans stock hasn't really fluctuated very much. He has been ahead of Flynn and Holiday from the start, but he hasn't answered any questions about whether he is a PG or SG at the next level either. The question has been, and remains, where he fits in compared to Harden and Thabeet.

++ Gerald Henderson, slipping into top 10, the guy is going to be a great role player, he's low risk but isn't going to be a superstar either..
The only spot I can see him slipping into the top-10 is #9 to Toronto, who is looking for a win-now sort of wing who is more NBA-ready than someone like Derozan. If he doesn't go there, he probably falls a bit because most teams appear to have guys like Terrence Williams or James Johnson ranked ahead of him.

++ Tyler Hansbrough, apparently is invited to the green room, most mocks have him actually going late in the lottery now...I don't personally see him as a lottery talent but he plays with a lot of heart.
This I agree with. A lot of people had Hansbrough as a late 1st, some who think his game translates poorly to the NBA even had him an early 2nd. He seems to have at least made an argument to go higher with his measurements and workouts. He is a bit of wildcard still though in that I wouldn't be surprised to see him go anywhere from the teens to the 20's.

++ Earl Clark, looks to be locked into the top 14 now, VERY interesting player to say the least.
Agree again. Clark is rumored to have a promise from Detroit, but even if he didn't I think he goes in that range. Too much size and too much talent to fall very far.

-- Hasheem Thabeet, after refusing to workout for Memphis and making it clear he does not want to be there, his stock is really dropping, he was considered a top 4 lock but now is as low as 8 on some boards.
His stock really hasn't changed any. He is a poor fit for Memphis anyway, they already have Gasol at C to clog the interior. Minnesota and OKC still both could use a shotblocking big in their lineup. You wrote this before the trade, but now that Minny has two picks at 5 and 6 I can't see him getting past them there. They need a more defensive oriented PF/C to add to the rotation, so they could pick up Thabeet and one of the PGs and address two needs.

-- Johnny Flynn, didn't do too well working out against Evans and Curry.... now is being projected as a mid first rounder some places....
If anything his stock has risen a bit over the draft process, and I haven't really seen anything that makes me think he has suddenly fallen. He is a guy that is hard to pin down though, because a lot depends on how things shake out with the PGs ahead of him. I think his basement is still at the end of the lottery to the Pacers.

-- Jrue Holiday, looks like general idea right no is that he is a step behind Rubio,Evans,Flynn,Curry, and Jennings. Late first round?
No way. Jrue could fall a bit, but late first is laughable. I think his basement is around the same as Flynn's, which of them go in which order is dependant on how teams ahead rank them...but he is not going to fall that far.

-- Austin Daye, ouch, some mocks had him as high as 12 while some are now showing him as a second rounder...
He has always been a later first to me. Once he showed up to the combine still pencil thin without being able to add any definition or weight, I think his stock was set. He has always had some of the raw skills, but too many question marks and a lack of development over the years balance that out. Still, I don't see him slipping out of the 1st at all.

Also, all that and no mention of Jennings falling from possible top-5 down to later in the lottery? Draftexpress even went so far as to drop him to the mid-first with their current mock. That is a pretty big stock drop for a guy that might have gone top-5 in a much better draft if there wasn't an age rule.

Evans is shooting up the draft boards...some talk of him going at #2 pick either thru memphis or Minn.
