You're a ridiculous, ridiculous man. I don't like my big men shooting threes. If you actually take 3pt % into account when judging the offensive prowess of a CENTER (!!!) then really, you haven't got a clue what you're talking about. Your response is pathetic so I won't humour you any further.

If Love can stretch the floor with the ability to shoot the 3, why shouldn't he? It's like telling Tyreke NOT to play inside the pain because he's a guard. By your account, Pattrick Patterson nor Steve Novak should be shooting 3s either.

Overall offensive game, Love has it. He can bring the ball up, dribble, pass, penetrate, post, and shoot from anywhere on the floor. Love isn't a C. He's a PF. Your response is pathetic. The last time Cuz thought he could dribble full court with head on speed and take it to the rim, guess what happened,,,he sprained his ankle. Cuz is my favorite player, but it's pretty stupid if you think Cuz has a better all around offensive game than Love. Love is a point powerfoward(not even a position)who can do it all on offense.

lol yea lets not take account of everything else Love does on offense. Love is shooting .375 from behind the arc which is pretty damn good

Love's post game is nowhere near as good as Cousins'. Yeah, Love shoots the 3 well. I mean, there's so much wrong with your post that I don't even know where to start. Love is great offensively, but his style of player at PF has been seen before. Cousins skillset offensively for a C is completely unique. His ball-handling and agility is unrivalled. Cousins can do all of those things you listed for Love except shoot the three, so your post is a bit stupid, really. Referencing the ankle sprain is complete stupidity, but it's to be expected from you. Yeah, Cuz sprained his ankle because he can't dribble, or, erm, something. Well done.
 
The OP was wrong to say Cuz doesn't have an all-around offensive game, but sheesh, the digs on Love are pretty bad. Dude is playing out of his mind this season. Easily one of the best offensive seasons we've seen from a big man in awhile.

As far as "team" issues goes, that's on Minny for pairing him with another offensive-minded/no D big in Pek. Love, has developed into a decent enough defender, but like Cuz, he needs to be paired with a strong defensive help guy. Also, their roster design is flat out weird. Love and Martin are excellent 3pt shooters, but they also already draw all the attention of the defense. And Minny has horrible shooting from their role guys. As I already noted, Love and Pek are both excellent offensively, but can't defend the paint

If being bad at dribbling leads to injury, then Ben McLemore would have had a career ending injury years ago,
 
Criticising Cousins for not being able to shoot the 3 makes as much sense as criticising point guard for not being able to post up. On top of that, Cousins is such a dominant low post player that it would be stupid of him to shoot 3 pointers.

Well that's simply not true either. They're essentially identical post-up players. Both are 0.89 PPP, shooting 43% in post-up situations. At the Rim, Cuz is 68% on 214 attempts. Love is 67% on 215 attempts.

Stats can lie to you horribly sometimes.

One of the weaknesses with the curiosity that is Kevin Love is that when you need a hoop, you really can't just throw it to him and say go get it big guy. Aside from the defense, I think that's the biggest reason he gets tagged with that mostly unfair empty stats label.

You're the dumbass.. no. Love is a better offensive player... and what the hell? Have you seen basketball before 2010? To say that Love's style of play have been seen before, but Cuz style of play hasn't been.. we're talking about offense offense offense. Cuz plays mostly in the paint, he'll hit a few mid range jumpers, but that's about it. Love can play all over the floor. If you think Cuz is a better offensive player than Love, then I don't know what to tell you. Love can handle the ball a lot better than Cuz..but let's not regard that because you're ignorant. If I pull up stats you'll just disregard that like you've disregarded everything else

Cuz does that all the time.. that's pretty low bball iq from him. We're talking about an overall offensive game. Love has it all. Cuz doesn't have good handles nor good as good as dribbles compared to Love. That play showed just that. Unfortunate, it was a mix between low bball iq and poor handles that resulted in that injury, am I not right?

I guess, we should be glad that a thread went off the rails and didn't end up with IT discussion, but this is still not a thread about Love winning #12 pick and Cousins having to settle for #10...Oh, wait...I think, this means Love's all-around game is better.
I wish Cousins didn't try things, that he's marginal at, but make him look versatile. Just stick to destroying opponents...

Sabonis wasn't the player he was because of his 3 point shooting so your argument is invalid. He could hit the 3, but it wasn't his bread and butter or even his strength. He rarely shot them. And anyway, I never said being able to knock down the three is a weakness - it's obviously not. But using it as a key criteria for rating a big man isn't very sensible.
 
Love's offensive game is about as diverse as you'd want your PF's game to be, Cuz' offensive game is about as diverse as you'd want your centre's game to be. both are the best at their respective position. arguing about who's better in that regard is really just splitting hairs, imo. certainly not something necessitating this tense a discussion, no?

also, why is there a draft position thread this early in the season anyway?
 
Just to be back on topic, if the Kings end up playing themselves out of a top five pick I think my two favorite 2nd tier players are Tyler Ennis and Willie Cauley-Stein. Both would be great fits on this Kings team.
 
Hollinger's latest playoff odds have the Kings finishing 33-49, tied with the Knicks and Pistons for the 8th-worst record. Given that Cousins and Gay are both back healthy, and with an easier stretch of games ahead allowing for them to continue building chemistry, I'm optimistic they may finish a couple games better than that. Of course, there's also a chance of a trade either substantially improving or disrupting things.
 
Well, leaving Kings sucking out of it for a moment, Knicks and Pistons had good home wins, Cavs come out so energized in Washington as to take away a W from Wizards, who looked worthy of late seed in the West lately. In a game, where somebody had to win, Lakers beat Sixers in Philadelphia (who in my mind second-worst team in the League next to Bucks right now).
Only Jazz didn't collaborate and lost decisively to Mavs.
So for now race in the bottom 10 looks like this:

Jekyll and Hyde team. After the homestand against bulls/raptors I really thought we were going to turn on the jets and my focus was on 8-12. Now after looking terrible against two bad / mediocre east teams the we might still be angling for a good pick. Who knows how this will play out, I seem to change how I feel about our wins total daily
 
We have a defensive coach
So we need to get players who can play defense. Players who will come in from the start and buy on to Malone's style.
