Donte Greene for Ryan Anderson

I have always liked Ryan Anderson wish we could have draft/traded for him earlier...

Ryan is a better shooter, rebounder and scorer not as good athlete or defender prob as Greene, but being a home town kid and a good role player would you trade Greene for Anderson? or do you think its still to early to give up on greene?

its kinda early if donte finds his identity on offense i wouldnt trade him.
For anderson tho? hell no kings dont need another big.. they need a swingman slasher/ballhandler type, id trade donte for sayyyy james harden, that would be fair.

Too early to give up on Greene, he's still young and shows us something new every season it seems. He will put it together and we will wish we still had him... Call it the Wallace effect on Kings fans with Donte Greene

I'd need to wait and let James Anderson develop a bit- we dunno how good he will be at this level. Ryan's ok, but I think what might be in order here is for us to lower our expectations a bit for Donte. If he can simply be a better decision maker, be consistent defensively, etc- fundamentals. I don't want him to be a star at this point I just want consistent quality.

Me too. I don't want Greene to be a star early.

My hopes for Donte is so high I have ambivalent feelings on how fast he should be developed. I don't want Donte to become a star YET and lose him later. We need a 6' 11" player with his talent in the near future. A player who can play both PF and SF with Evans and Cousins.

It is kind of a weird/bad reasoning but I feel if he gets the star status early, then he becomes more expensive for the Kings to re-sign comes that day he needs to be re-signed ( 2012-2013). Let us delay his development ( unnoticeably to him and other teams ) and maybe we will have a better chance of re-signing him for cheap. Maybe he won't leave yet if he remains clueless of his value and other teams won't be that much interested on acquiring him.

Same goes with Thompson, Casspi, and much later on for Whiteside. All these players need to come cheap salary-wise if we want to retain them as support players to Evans and Cousins.

no idea who james anderson is. but im gonna say no anyways

Anderson, who played at Oklahoma St. was considered one of the best shooters coming out of college in the recent draft. He's a 6'6" SG. Decent defender in college. His only weakness is his ballhandling, which isn't terrible, but isn't great. I'm a big fan of Ryan Anderson, but I think we have enough bigs for now. Leaving in the morning from Mulege and heading for home. Long freaking drive. Weather here is great though. Sunny and 85 degrees everyday.

Well, it's good to see on the board. I was starting to think the drug cartels might have got you...

I say no to this trade. I want to see what Donte still has, if he doesn't show enough improvement when he's a free agent, just let him walk.
