Do you want this trait as our backup C?

Huge wingspan...
Good shot blocker...
Runs the floor well for a player his size...
Poor footwork...
Good shooting touch...
Makes no mistake from the free-throw line. :D

Calvin Booth.

By the way--seeing that Hoopshype rarely updates their player profiles--the last time Booth even semi-fit that description was during the 2003-2004 season. He's been wracked with injuries ever since. And another note, the word "athlete" also needs to be spliced in that description to pique further interest--Booth is extremely mechanical.

LOL. Nice search Arby.

Yup..that is Calvin Booth (http://hoopshype.com/players/calvin_booth.htm)
The guy who might be on our roster should Petrie not make a move to grab a backup C.

But I really hope not. I just want to start a new thread to give some life to this sleeping part of the forum.

Anyway, does anybody know if Jackie Butler is still actively playing?
He's a wide body who easily takes space down low. He was with the 2007 Spurs that won it all that season. I would not mind him as a backup C as long as he he comes cheap and stays away from injury.

And with May and Butler backing up our young bigs and mind you sharing those burgers with JT and Hawes (LOL). In my theory is the fastest way to add bulk to our frontline. LOL

If my memory is right, Dwight Howard only started to really bulk-up when the Magic got Adonal Foyle as a backup. So again in my theory if we'll have wide guys backing challenging JT/Hawes at practice, maybe both kids bulks-up faster than expected. :D:D:D

Wait, what? Jackie Butler? Dude hasn't set foot on an NBA court in two years, and while he "played" for the 2007 NBA champs, he managed 103 minutes all season. 57 of those minutes came in the final two games of the season when the Spurs had shut it down (no Duncan, no Parker, no Ginobili in either game). And he didn't set foot on the court during the playoff championship run with the possible exception of timeouts and during the trophy ceremony. But hey, in 46 garbage minutes spread across the first 80 games he did get three rebounds! In fact, the Spurs thought so highly of him that they traded him to Houston that offseason along with the rights to Luis Scola so that Houston could waive him and they could waive somebody cheaper (Vassilis Spanoulis). Yeah, I bet he'd really fill out our bench.

And I was just getting my hopes up. Hey, when you figure that most of the minutes for the Kings last year were garbage, he just might fit in...:D
