This year we need to let the "kids" grow. With the exception of maybe an "Inexpensive, good defense SF" (thanks rosa u podne), we don't need any other FA's to take up our youngsters minutes. Next year with more cap money to spend when we know more about our core players, then we can perhaps land a very good FA or two to take the next step up.

Kings are going to have a better read on Harry than us, if he’s a center, but as of last season center was the biggest need and this summer will be a good summer on that front. Lot of FAs, not a lot of competition. Nurkic/Capela?

I think this is the summer. Vlade/Joerger want improvement now to feel secure, and few teams have cap with a lot of solid FAs. It will also align salary wise with Marvin. I could see Shumpert stretches and making a splash

Frank Mason can't be the backup PG he's gotta be 3rd string....... They need a SF who can defend too... or else their heading into a gunfight with a knife

Vlade has been pretty good the last couple years at working the salary cap to remain flexible by offering one year + option deals and such, I think he goes the same route this summer while still trying to stay competitive. I for one, would love to see us go after Rodney Hood with an aggressive offer on the 1st of July, before settling for Hezonja. If we do end up going after Mario after all, I believe Vlade would give him a flexible, earn it type contract with a second year option like he did with Rondo. This is our year to be aggressive cap wise, seeing as how next year more teams will have cap space.

Vogel used Hezonja as a smallball PF but he's definitely a wing in terms of skill set.

He's at his best coming off screens and on catch-and-shoot opportunities. He's also an underrated passer and can make good decisions as the ball handler in the P&R.

He needs to cut down on turnovers and improve his overall decision making but I think never having considtent minutes or a set position with the Magic hurt him in terms of learning to let the game come to him.

He's not good defensively but he's better off guarding guys on the perimeter (he has decent lateral quickness) than matching up with bigger, stronger PFs especially since he doesn't look to have added a ton of strength since entering the league.

I disagree. I've watched too many Orlando games for my own good, but Hezonja is not a SF. He's too laterally slow at guarding SFs, but not strong enough to guard PFs. Yeah he has the offensive skillset for a SF, but it's the defense we need. If defense was taken out of the equation, we might as well play Bogdan at the 3.

I don't think he has decent lateral quickness. He gets blown by way too easily.. and this is against SFs. He's a gamble. I just don't think the Kings should be rewarding busts nor mediocrity(talking about overapying him). We've already been massively overpaying in FA for anyone who can pick up a basketball. I don't want a Hezonja signing to set another standard for us. Telling busts they can come here and we'll pay them big money in order to gamble on their potential. Sets a poor precedent, it's why FAs take advantage of the Kings all the freaking time. Iggy is the prime example of a player who used us as leverage against GS. Guys like Allen Crabbe did the same too. These FAs know they can come in for a visit in Sacramento and we'll be the team who has no problem ponying-up money. I'm not happy with that at all. We're also the destination for vets to go to if they want to get overpaid. George Hill? Nobody had the cap space to sign him for 20mpy. Zach Randolph? would any team really even spend a dime above vet minimum for him? Anthony Tolliver for $8mpy? We're also fine welcoming in rejects like Rajon Rondo and Matt Barnes.

Hezonja signing is nowhere near as bad as those examples, but this would set a horrible precedent. I'm referring to the people who think we should throw 8-10mpy his way. Might as well form a line out the door and welcome back Stauskas while we're at it.

He's not close to his prime. Also, they should consider Oubre who is the better defender, but still has a ways to go offensively. The Kings already have Jackson whose strength probably will never be offense, so I'd rather get somebody to balance out the weakness of his game.

Kings gotta be all over it if he's available tho. I've been a huge Will the Thrill Barton fan since he was a top ranked recruit, and back at memphis. Of all the 2nd rd picks in the last bunch of drafts Barton was one that I was sure was gonna be good, tbh he only fell to the 2nd cuz he's skinny.

this is why the Kelly Oubre thing next summer is appealing to me.. Oubre has potential to be pretty good all over the floor. Also he'd be another step in the direction of starting 5 lefties
