I don't see Willie as a throw in. He's a very valuable player with his new improvements(if he can keep it up).

If he can keep up this consistency, he can definitely be our C of the future. However, I think this draft is absolutely loaded at Cs. This is why I think he's expendable IF we can get a highly talented player back. Ayton, Bamba, Carter, and Jackson Jr.

Even in that case, you're better off worrying about trading Willie after our draft position has been decided and we're guaranteed to be in position to draft his replacement (even so, WCS is still just 24 and is athletic enough that he could probably slide to the PF slot next to a new rookie center/Giles/Brow when we eventually trade George Hill for him or something).

Going off of interviews and reports and all that stuff, I would probably have our players ranked like this going into the trade season.

Untouchable: Fox, Giles, Skal
Untouchable barring a lopsided offer: Bogdan, Willie, Buddy
More Touchable but not really: Mason, Jackson, Z-Bo
Shrugging meme: Malachi, Papa, Vinsanity

Revisiting a trade idea I proposed earlier in the season. Buddy+WCS for Jaylen Brown. However, I think Budy and Willie have improved a lot, while Brown has regressed from his hot play at the beginning of the season. Maybe their own 1st round pick would make sense? Top 20 protected?

Why would the Celtics be interested in trading 2nd year player Jaylen Brown? He's made major strides for himself. 14.4pts 5.8rebs 1.3asts on 47.4/39.9/57.6. Celtics are also in good standing at 32-10. Well one reason I think they would entertain the idea is because they already have 3 starting SFs on the roster. Hayward, Tatum, and Brown. Yes they can play a lineup of Kyrie-Brown-Hayward-Tatum-Horford, but the serious problem already shows up with the lack of defensive presence in the paint. Tatum can do many things, but being a rim protector and rebounder is not one of them.

Buddy makes sense for them because he can provide instant offense whether starting or off the bench. Kyrie-Buddy would be a good scoring pair, but not sure he'd start. He's only in year 2 of his contract. Rozier and Smart are FAs at the end of the year. He could potential replace them. Not only does he fit for this year, but he also fits long-term. I could also see Brad Stevens turning him into a semi-respectable defender. WCS could be their starting C. Without the need for him to become a scoring juggernaut(Kyrie and Hayward are 20+ppg scorers), he could actually become what everyone thought he would be coming out of Kentucky. A defensive rim protector.

Why it makes sense for the Kings? Brown would be our franchise SF and maybe more. I think he has a higher potential than Buddy and Willie. He's also 3 years younger than both of them too. The late 1st round pick would be another plus for the Kings.

How about G. Hill for frye (expiring) and shumpert (po) and Clevelands 1st rounder.

For CLE it would give them a nice insurance policy for I.T and Wade and would fit in nicely imo.

For us it would clear up that salary and I think shumpert would decline his option given the amount of guards in front of him.

Cavs have tax issues right now and they have Thomas as an expiring. They need some of those expirings to help with their cap situation.

This is coming from Cavs fans I’ve talked to when proposing trades on other forums.

Alright, so I was ready to trade Hill and Weed-bo yesterday, but after this game they can go away forever for pretty much anything.

NO gives: Omer Asik, Solomon Hill, Alexis Ajinca, 2019 1st

You give NO wing and big depth that they desperately need, and take back overpaid riffraff to match salaries and pry a pick from them.

Asik is a freakin' abomination, so he won't play (or at least, he better not) and he is only guaranteed a few million in his last year, you can waive Ajinca I think, and S. Hill sucks but is injured. All three of those guys are manageable to open up more minutes for the young guys.

They need SF help if they are going to move that pick. This just gives them a bit of a log jam with Holiday, Rondo, Hill, & Moore. They should potentially be looking at shedding those dead weight contracts with a 1st and bringing back someone like Batum or Barnes. Then you have a Holiday/Moore/Barnes/Davis/Cousins as their starting lineup.

I’m curious if Charlotte would do a Holiday for Batum swap as they have been looking for another solid guard who can handle and play with Walker. And then they move the other bad contracts and a 1st for Barnes. Then you have Rondo or Moore/Batum/Barnes/Davis/Cousins

I love Frank Ntilikina but they could use a vet like Hill if they want to make the playoffs. Frank needs time to improve and I think Hill might be better suited to mentor a player like Frank than Fox.

Perhaps, if Hill is still with us, a deal can be reached after the moratorium has passed this offseason. Like you said, Perry helped sign him ( *supposedly promising him playoffs? Lol ) and might be inclined to make something happen..

We already have three, just over 6'6" players on the team that are playing SF in Bog's, Malachi, and Temple. Works fine until, like last night with Malachi trying to guard 6"10" Trey Lyles.

I will be surprised if there are many deals. I suspect the Kings will try to move Hill and Kosta and maybe Temple. I think moving Kosta is doable depending on what value is available out there.

I think we would love to move Hill but at that contract and the indifferent form he is in, I think that would just be a wishful thinking to get anything that is not damaging to the franchise from that deal.

I’ll be equally stunned if the best they can get for Lonzo is George Hill, but this trade does get them out of the Deng contract—cuts it by one year—for a player that fits perfectly next to Lebron. Malachi is a big, young swing man who can shoot—another great fit next to Lebron, alhough essentially a placeholder here. Maybe they want Skal instead, who knows? Anyway, not fantastic value for Ball, but the Deng contract is a real clunker and I am very curious as to what Ball’s actual market is around the league right now.

Johnson’s contract is an albatross that goes up quite a bit. This trade saves the Heat $28.13M next year and $36.34M in 19/20. The Heat are looking to unload salary. The real question is are a 28 year old Whiteside and potential with Justice worth it to take on that much salary.

Spolstra is a great coach and will be in consideration for COY.

I get your point on Whiteside, but they have a lot of money in centers including a promising young rookie. And we disagree anyone will take on TJ’s contract for an expiring player ( btw I’m a Fresno fan so if anything I’m biased otherwise).
