Oh I see, since I'm berating the lousy effort over the last 2 weeks, play that could undermine the rest of the season, I'm a Lakers fan. Being blindly loyal is no better than being fairweather.
Well, you sound like people I know who moved up here from LA, bought Kings season tickets, and "kind of" follow the Kings but only if they win.

If not, then my mistake. But you talk as if you haven't been watching this team this year and only started paying attention when someone told you they were playing better.

By everyone, do you mean the fans or the team or both?

I don't think the team underestimated them at all, I just think we we're tired and feeling the physical sting of last night's loss.

Even Coach just mentioned both the physical/emotional toll as well.

Well, I think it was really I who underestimated them most. But I was getting a "the Kings should beat Dallas" vibe from the board.

I was starting to think the team might have felt that way too; but after a little thinking, I agree with your point about the Kings being drained.

You're right, lousy effort is the wrong description. Rather, it's like they tried really hard on an exam and still got an F.
I disagree. I think they tried really hard on the exam and just missed a few of the toughest questions... (namely Kobe, clutch play, Lebron and fatigue..) But I guess it all depends on perspective...

How could I not pay attention if I go to most every home game? Look, you're probably a nice person. I am. But tonight freaks me out because I worry it's a sign that the good we saw earlier this year is being usurped by the bad all the sportswriters predicted.

If the past 2 weeks were lousy efforts, then I can't want to see when we're playing hard!
Exactly! I don't see how coming back from 28 down to Chicago and winning, taking the Lakers to OT and except for a miracle last night, would have beaten them is a lousy effort.

Only someone who isn't aware of what's happening with this team could possibly call these past 2 weeks a lousy effort.

I really don't understand what you're trying to say.
You can't expect a team of rooks and sophs to bounce from 17 to 45 wins over the course of one summer. It's just not going to happen.
Watch the kids grow, try to enjoy the process, and understand that it's going to take a little more time until they can win this type of games.

Yeah, their defense really impressed me. 2 years ago, I really questioned their acquisition of Jason Kidd, but he has really fit their team well.

Them, along with the Spurs have really been the most consistent teams in the West the past 10 years.

I don't know how you managed to go to every home game and still not be aware of what's happening. So how did you manage that?

It's going to take more time to win against Dallas and Philadelphia? Also, please see Boston Celtics immediately before and after the addition of Garnet.

Evans is not a PG! The sooner Kings realize that the better will be. I think they just try to push him on that PG position, because they don`t want a mess with two potential stars on the same position when Martin will be back. Beno proved this season that under good coaching he can run the offense as a starting PG in the NBA!

Tonights game kinda pointed to no. It was another Bad Beno game. Good Beno missed the flight back up.

I overslept first 20 min of the game, but what I have seen later, he played mostly as a SG and just waiting on Evans to bring the ball over the halfcourt line for 10 seconds...

But then when Beno was given the opportunity to handle the ball, he was handling it waaaayyyyy too long, holding it out until there was essentially no time left on the clock. That's something all three of our PGs are guilty of but with Beno, its definitely becoming more and more of a nuisance. His defense is still mighty spotty as well. JJ Barrea lit him up tonight.

I still think it was a function of the Dallas defense more than anything else. Except for the garbage from last night which had to be a drag.

At the same time, I don't think a Beno/Evans backcourt would work in the long run. You lose the massive Evans versus mere mortal PG advantage as the other team puts their SG on him and Beno is often a liability on defense. IMHO, Beno is better as a 6th man off the bench.
