Dalembert Signing...with Houston!!

I'm not worried about JT. And I think he is quality as part of our big 4. He has a track record where Hickson and Cousins don't. Throw it up in the air and reshuffle. Who knows what we'll get this year. So far so good if we resign Dalembert.

Seriously getting old with this messing around.

So we pulled the offer.. Meaning we made an offer. So many questions.. like why wouldn't he accept the offer we gave him? Maybe he was really just using us to get more money elsewhere.. Or maybe he really is just super out of shape.

Or maybe we are landing AK.

****!!!

I was getting concerend why it wasn't done already, and sure enough.

Let's hope his source was the alcoholic janitor at the agent's office who just found the keys to the office liquor cabinet.

I seriously don't see how the Kings have a choice at this point - they NEED to sign Dally or they do not have a remotely competitive team.
If he will go 1 or 2 years, they can pay Dally $10 million a year with little concern.

They have little alternative as I see it.

Perhaps it is too late already... Jimmer can play the 4, right?

Ugh. I think we have been duped/used.

Dally wanted Houston, lured us back in .. we clearly gave him a real offer. He took it to Houston and they must have matched.

I feel like this is all my fault. I said I wanted AK47 more than Dalembert... and Geoff is just trying to give me a merry Christmas... sorry fellas.

Clearly Geoff, from his normal tunnel vantage point at Arco, saw that awesome interior defensive display we put on last night -- after all we held them to only 56 points in the paint -- and decided who needs shotblocking! We've never needed it before!

my rolling eyes are a lot less happy than that icon btw.

Yeah we should have never messed around with this in the first place. We needed a shot blocker, we had a shot blocker, we just needed to close the deal. Maybe they tried but it sounded like we abandoned Dally for the Hayes thing, tried to get back in too late.

I am guessing, GUESSING, Dalembert wanted Houston to give him a certain deal and never intended to come to Sac unless he was grossly overpaid... beautiful... jerked around by yet another free agent.

Clearly we weren't in love with Dalembert or we would have went after him much harder before we signed Chuck, but to me this looks like Dalembert choosing Houston over us more than Geoff not signing him.

The fact that we retracted an offer ( meaning we put a real one out there ) and seconds later he signs with Houston? that tells me he wanted to play there, and was really just using out cap room as leverage. Hopefully we'll find out how close the offers were soon.

That's exactly how I feel . He just used us to get a little bit more money from Houston. He wanted to go there and finally got his wish. Pure business. We have been delamberted.

I feel like Dalembert is such a tool. I firmly believe that the Kings have pursued him, and Dalembert is the one who's leading everyone on. If this wasn't the case, he would've signed a contract by now.

I'm guessing the Rockets felt like they had no other choice and figured they couldn't try and low ball Daly anymore hahaha. Oh well, 7 million for 1 year would have been sweet with a team option for 2nd year. If that was a player option for the 2nd year it's a good thing the Kings pulled out, now the Kings will have much cap space to spend next summer too!

At least we didn't overpay him. That should make some people happy. Not me.

At some point, people including the Kings have to realize that FAs don't want to come here.

Now we continue the adventure to try to sign a player to get over the minimum.

Let me add, Daly was NOT the only big man available in free agency. Let's not lay all our complaints on him. How about the others? It's time to look inward at the organization that is trying to put this team on the court.

I am down with that... It's always okay to over-pay a free agent in Sacramento...

That's a fairly dumb statement. You can see what much cap space means for the Kings. Nada and zilch. And we are running out of time. We fail this year, next year is Reke's last and Cousins' next to last. We are just about out of save it for next year time. When we've got a fish on the hook, we've got to reel him in, beucase we rarely even get a nibble.

Let's just say this... the Kings might have better luck and get better value from a trade... the contract won't have to be $2-$3 million higher than anywhere else just to land the player.

This, I agree with.

The time for patience and waiting for next year is OVER.

With Hayes gone, the Kings HAVE to get a solid interior defender, or this season is virtually guaranteed to be non-competitive (i.e. losing record, no chance at playoffs, no fan interest, little likelihood of getting a stadium financed).
