Dalembert Signing...with Houston!!

At 7 million a year? Just 2 years? This is perfect. Gives us time to develop, draft, and not have to deal with a super old player with a disgusting contract.

Karma! Great Christmas present for Kings fans I'd say - fingers crossed. And even better if it's a one or two year deal to have Sammy back at age 31. Like having his vet presence besides all the rest.

Hey Sammy, how's that humble pie taste?

I don't think a put down is appropriate at all. It's ok to voice an opinion, but truth is Dalembert said all along he was waiting for Kings to make him an offer. As a FA he simply had his agent entertain offers or at least discussions with several NBA teams. The Kings were the only ones in the end that had enough cap room for his services, wanted him back desperately, and he says its all good with him. Of course, it would have never happened without the unfortunate Chuck Hayes situation.

WELCOME BACK SAMMY!

So, so happy to see this news. Makes Jimmer's presence that much more viable together with Thornton and Reke, if you catch my drift.

If only we weren't so hasty and didn't claim Outlaw, we'd be in position to outbid the Nets and steal AK47 from them. Is it still possible? Sure, but not without dumping Salmons somewhere afterward. That is, unless you're cool with Salmons going to town on our locker room atmosphere when he's clawing for PT between 3-4 other SFs.

Yeah I don't think its fair to throw this in Sammy's face...I think he got Bonzi'd by his agent more than anything else. I'm just glad it ended up ok for us in the end and not like the Bonzi ending.

Even tho he betrayed my country, i'll welcome him back with open arms. He does have a heart, and i saw that when he made all those donations to Haiti.
2 Years, 16 Mil with second year team option would make me happy. If I was GP i would pay a little extra money to make that second year a Team option.

Dalembert/Cousins/Thompson
Cousins/Hickson/Thompson
Salmons/Outlaw
Scoreton/Jimmer
Evans/Jimmer/IT

......This makes us the deepest team in the league me thinks.

7 million a year? that's doable for sure. That worked out well then especially if the Kings have the option to opt out after this year so they can open themselves back up to major space next summer when the market should be even better than this year.

This will help with the rebounding and interior D. The wings still need to be better at keeping their man from driving past them.

At 7$ million for Sammy that should still leave about 7-8$ million for AK! It's time for the Maloofs to fly to Russia and start begging...

Great news. I hope it goes through tomorrow.

Then I hope he signs an extension after this short term deal is done (since hopefully that means he's an integral part of a championship contender by then :)).

I always felt that 7-8 million was about right for Dalembert and what he brings to the team. I could have lived with $9 million (but wouldn't have be happy about it), but think it would end up coming back to bite the Kings. I hope these rumors are in the right ballpark.

This is fantastic news.

If we are able to get him in the 7mil range that would be huge, and if it's for a 2-year deal, I hope it's either for 2 years, or if there is an option, it's a team option. I'd feel a lot more comfortable if there were no questions about whether he was going to be with use for one year or two.

I think the fact that we didn't play Garcia and Donte today also is meaningful. It appears as if we'll be close to having cap-space to consider making a run at AK.

My whole thing was years. Re-signing Dalembert for 4 years or longer could have been a major mistake that killed all flexibility in time, especially after no team was willing to offer him anything close to 10 a year for that long apparently.

I like it. Cousins needs at least a year (or two) to get to the next and more elite level. Daly can help him get there while helping team at same time.

I think not playing Donte or Garcia just meant that Honeycutt is a really doing well in practice and Outlaw is like Greene but better for Westphals needs. I was really impressed with Outlaw tonight.

Just for a second though, could you imagine Outlaw and AK as your two swing F's? Holy ****! After tonight though I'm totally down with giving Outlaw the shot at those backup SF/PF minutes.

I think jt would become the 5th big if Sam comes back. He just isn't better than hickson or outlaw

I'm wondering what kind of value we could get for JT, i meen hes a good player, hes just in a tough spot on our squad like G.Wallace was. It sure is nice to have a big of his quality on the depth chart tho.

But yah Outlaw looked great, he seemed really active on defense and his three point shot looks solid. I'm also happy with him as the back up SF.
