If Cousins isn't there, I suspose I could live with Monroe. But if we pass on Cousins for Monroe, I'll be entering a facility for the emotionally disturbed. :eek:

Which is why I wouldn't invest 12+ million into him annually over multiple seasons. If you're lauding that kind of dough, you better be a perfect fit, like how Okafor is. And Okafor likely comes WITH incentive to land him due to NOH cap situation, whereas Jefferson would require GIVING incentive as the Wolves have no rush to move him for less than perceived full value.

I'd argue that if you're investing 12M+ a year in a player he better be a star, which Jefferson at least arguably is and Okafor is definitely not. You don't pay that much for a guy who "fits" on the roster, you pay that much for a guy you're building around. Jefferson is far more worthy of the 3y/$42M on his contract than the 4y/$52M Okafor is getting paid.

I don't really think I want either of them though. #5 for Jefferson is too much. I don't think they'd do Jefferson + #16 for #5 or anything like that. Okafor is just too expensive for what he is. You can not take that contract on when you have our talent and salary structure heading into the uknown of the new CBA. We are in a highly favorable position and he would just waste it.

Thats what I say. Al Jefferson would be one of the pieces we build around... not one of the role player fillers. We get three star quality players and then worry about who fits with them or not.

I am going off of recent rumors that DeMarcus Cousins was very impressive, so I don't think we will be trading out of this pick. We will be picking Cousins at 5 and we won't be trading it down.

I'd totally take Cousins over Favors if need wasn't considered but all Favors has to do is go into a workout, jump one time, touch the moon, and then leave.
 
NJ would be crazy not to take Favors, he's going to be the best big in this draft when it's all said and done IMO.
 
The only way we lose in the draft is if Petrie makes us lose lol, IMO you take whoever is left Cousins or Johnson and celebrate.

I don't know if Favors will end up being the best big man in this draft, but he would definitely fit better next to Lopez than Cousins. Cousins and Lopez are both centers IMO. To try and play one of them at PF would be a big mistake.

Okay, my thoughts on Big Al: He's 25 years old...still young, but already has major ankle and knee surgeries. True, 'when healthy' he's 22/11...but he played in 76 'healthy' games last year and averaged 17/9...which is right around what our 6'7 PF gave us after he came over from Houston. At what point does he hit his 'healthy' prime, and also at what point do those injuries start catching up to him...they were a bit more than just a scrape and a hangnail.

Edit: we do agree about Mandry being better suited to be 6th man.

It does if Petrie doesn't consider him BPA or if the difference between Johnson and the next BPA isn't enough to justify picking up another SF when we already have a bunch and need a big.

If he doesn't consider Johnson to be the clear BPA over Monroe, then he's either an idiot or a fetishist for big men who can pass. It's so stupid because Monroe doesn't solve any of our frontcourt needs. He doesn't even bring anything new to the table offensively.
