Cousins makes all-rookie first team

No surprises here....

Kings center-forward DeMarcus Cousins was selected to the NBA All-Rookie first team, the league announced Wednesday.
Cousins, the No. 5 pick in last year's draft, set a Sacramento-era rookie record with 699 rebounds (team-high 8.6 average, second among rookies).

He also averaged 14.1 points and 2.5 assists and scored in double figures in 58 games.
It's the second consecutive year a King has been voted to the first team. Tyreke Evans, the 2010 Rookie of the Year, was honored previously.

Saw this a couple days ago. Landry Fields had more first place votes than Cousins.

Too much bias with the all NBA votes. Wade didn't even make a defensive team despite being a perimeter defensive anchor for his team. Kobe got by on reputation, etc.

There's a lot of east coast bias to some degree, but to be honest, Fields earned his place on the team. I think the biggest surprise has to be Neal. But congrats to DeMarcus. Now if we can put someone on that team again next season. Well, one can hope.

Wade also got left off the first team all NBA team. Kobe got in at the 2 over him. I'll let you guys be the judge on who should have gotten first or not.

Congrats to Cousins, btw. I think he'll end up being the best player out of this draft.

Go Kings!

Congrats to DeMarcus! The first accolade of many. Work your *** off during the summer and you have a legit shot at an all-star spot. You have special talent, it all depends on how bad you want to be truly great!

Talking about bias, I would actually mention Tony Allen. He'll never get any votes whatsoever for any All-NBA honours, but he's pretty much to the SG position what Dwight Howard is to the centre position, defensively.

Congratulations Demarcus! You deserve it!

I love watching him on the court and I can't wait to see how much he improves in the next season. I'm so glad we drafted him.

On a side note: I got to meet him and he’s really a great guy. I wasn’t expecting anything different but I just had to say it.
