Cousins Extension agreed upon

And of course they potentially blow up the best frontcourt in the league for the next 10 years for what?
We'll see. The future of that frontline is Monroe and Drummond. Josh Smith is playing out of position and when you consider how much he chucks up ill advised 3's, that could really backfire on them.

Also, you need a good PG to help maximize the talents of those young bigs. That isn't Jennings. He's another chucker who will take away from the development of the bigs.

OTOH, Rondo is one of the top 5 PG's in the game who is regularly among the league's top assist guys. Throw in a true SF like Wallace and I still make that deal.

Thomas and Patterson talking about Cousins extension. Get the impression that these guys are ready to follow DeMarcus, if he's willing to take that leadership role

there's actually quite a few people not sure about that, who think that trading Monroe might make more sense for them, especially if he doesn't improve his defense.

If they want to do that then that's fine as well. I guess the main point is that the current frontline won't work well unless you have a team oriented PG who knows how to help maximize their potential. Getting rid of Jennings and bringing in Rondo is a very good first step.

You also have the issue of Josh Smith playing out of position at SF. He would've been an ideal SF in the 90's but he's clearly a 4 for the new NBA. You either trade him or trade Monroe and subsequently move him to the PF spot. Either way, you are making a move in the right direction. Bringing in a 3 like Wallace to take Smoove's spot just makes all the more sense.

I really considerably disagree with that. He's always been out of positon at 4. Never had the bulk, strength, post game or anything else but shotblocking. The question is whether he can handle the three, but with the most dominant threes in the game all huge Bron/Melo/Durants, having a big athletic player there yourself should be a major advantage.
