Cousin/Reke or George/Hibbert

Goo

G-League
Watching the Heat/Pacer series got me thinking, between Reke/Cousin and George/Hibbert which pair you prefer?

Cousins - Pro: passing, rebound, scoring, jump shoot, handling. Con: temper, size, block shoot
vs
Hibbert - Pro: Size, temper, block shoot, OR, D. Con: can't shoot

Reke vs George
George is a better shooter, more consistant and taller
Reke is better at get to the rim, handling and passing
They're pretty even to me, slight edge to George.

How will Indy do Reke/Cousins?
Cousins/West/Granger/Reke/Hill

Hibbert/JT/George/MT/IT

George/Hibbert easily and twice on Sundays. Both guys are amongst the best defensively at their positions and have yet to tap into their true offensive potential yet.

pretty much. Hibbert is a decent offensive player and an elite defensive one. Cuz is a good, if inefficient offensive player and an unmitigated disaster on defense. he has more potential of course, but the defense thing worries me. Paul George is just heads and shoulders above Reke right now and his career trajectory makes it look like this is only going to get worse.

Let's move Keith Smart to the Pacers, and Vogel to the Kings, then have this conversation.

Do you mean right now? Or in the future?

Right now obviously you go with the Indiana pair...although of course unless he's playing smallball teams in the East this isn't the real Roy Hibbert we are watching. Still enjoying watching him remind people why big people have always dominated basketball.

Long term? No. I am not a playoff groupie. Cousins has the potential to be the most dominant player of the crew by quite a bit, and the Indiana duo, barring further George development which may come, is more a pair of excellent support players than frontline stars. George is somebody's Scottie Pippen type, and Hibbert is the defensive wall inside, but not a goto guy.

Let say the next 4-5 years when all of them hit their prime, put it is way will you trade Cousins/Reke/#7orMT for George/Hibbert?

I think I will go Cousins/Reke rather then George/Hibbert because both Cousins/Reke can break down defense and George/Hibbert can't.

I'd take Cousins over Hibbert and George over Evans.

I like all four players, though. I think we've seen Hibbert play as good as he'll ever player. Cousins, George, and Evans still have a lot of room for growth. I'd also say Evans has the MOST potential left, meaning he is the guy who is furthest away from reaching his potential, also considering he may never reach it.

Except for the fact that George is already verging on being with elite company of players who are elite defensive players and can be #1 options offensively. You can count the number on 1 hand of how many wings in basketball have George's skill-set and he's still only 23.

If he gets there. Right now his numbers bear a lot of resemblance to Iggy's when Iggy was a primary option in Philly, also in his early 20s. Love that style player, but they aren't going to be the primary star to carry you home.
