I'm willing to keep Artest and see if we can getting a fair deal in the summer. And if he walks, I'm fine with letting Artest go for nothing.

So the bottom line is: you want garbage. I'm ok with nothing. When given a choice between nothing and garbage, you choose the former, and I prefer the later.

Now we lose Artest for nothing and we won't know for sure what John Salmons can do for us in the future. Hopefully he'll be our starting SF next year and can return to the form we saw him earlier this year...but now we won't know for sure until next year when it will be too late to make a move if he doesn't pan out.

Please, people here over rate our players trade value so much it's not even funny. When you consider a trade of a young guy, an expiring and a pick as garbage, then you're in no position to say it's better to get nothing.

A fair deal for what? keeping artest? Thats not going to happen. We are not gonna S&T him so you get nothing. If you take the trade you at least get a pick that might turn into something.
