[Game] Clippers @ Kings - 10/28 - 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET

We lost the game in the 1st half with our atrocious offense. Missed shots aren't the issue. It was the actual sets we were running and the intent behind them. Can't waste a full 24 mins against the Clips.

As far as the Rondo sub, Karl's gonna have to choose either Rondo or DC down the stretch. Can't play Rondo/DC/Marco and sacrifice the SF. And to keep Rudy out there, you're playing him at the 4. Just too small.

And notice the game changed when Cuz started banging inside. Wasn't always pretty. Made some mistakes but it changed the game. One of our brilliant journalists should ask Karl why he was using Cuz as a SG the first half.

I don't think Cousins shot a three in the second half also

Rondo needs all the shooters.

Bad game from him tonight.

Glad it's a one year deal. Then again, he looked good enough this preseason to have me nibbling crow, so he should come around.

You can see how this team can come together. It's funny, but it's almost like Vlade has gone full bizarro Petrie in the players he's acquired. Instead of getting jack of all trade types, he's gotten us a bunch of specialists. Once Karl gets his rotation figured out, we should start beating some teams.

Why was koufos guarding Blake griffin for so long? He was backing off for obvious reasons and he gave Blake 2-3 feet of space for every shot. By the time Karl changed it up, we were fighting out of a hole all night.

Rondo needs Marco on the floor with him. Much better fit than Ben.

The difference between Ben and Marco offensively was telling, and it was the passing ability that separates the two. Marco is a really good passer and he was a huge reason the Kings put in a + assist to turnover night when they started off horrifically. Bens defense in the 3rd was really good though. He was fighting through screens like a madman so he deserves some major credit.

The team needs the Rondo we saw tonight with a little more makes in his 8 shots. The non ball dominant, unselfish Rondo can work. Not the rock masher he was in Boston the last few years. When he had the ball he got it where it needed to go quickly and that was a plus.

He didn't have to, they weren't letting him have much space. He shot 3's because they didn't respect him. To his credit he showed them that maybe they should. In the 2nd half they did respect him more. They really should have started the ball in the post more once they had that smaller lineup with spacing IMO. Cousins stopped the turnovers and added assists once that spacing came into play. Shocker.

He had numerous looks in the second half to hoist a three but he chose not to....I'm not really sure what changed, maybe it was a mental thing but he didn't just settle. The looks were still there.

Rondo looked like the player I'm afraid he has become tonight. Slow on d and too much of a scoring liability to take advantage of his passing. Luckily, it's just the first game but he needs to step up his impact.

That's he who is people wanted to think someone else was coming but this will be the Rondo

Clippers, Warriors and Thunder are the three west teams that are kind of just continuing what they had going last year. Houston added Lawson and they will need time for he and Harden to gel. Spurs are adjusting to Aldridge.

Houston, Spurs, Grizzlies are the winnable hard games. Lakers and Suns are must wins if we want to be in playoff contention. Mavs already won at PHX. Games vs Pelicans, Mavs, Jazz, PHX and perhaps Portland and Denver are the games that will decide the bottom seeds. I just dont see any of the teams in our grouping having much success against those top teams. Warriors, Clips, Spurs, Thunder in particular are in a class way above the rest of the league.

To be fair to Rondo, wasn't all on him tonight. He's at his best when he has control of the offense to make plays and finding guys to finish. The ball just stopped most of the time once it got into Rudy and Cuz's hands.

Sloppy game by the Kings and sloppy officiating. Still fun game to be at and the atmosphere was electric. Haven't felt that way in a while at Arco.

You won't win against the Clips, when you allow their bread and butter plays. Of course you have to give them something, but Paul could get to anywhere on the floor at will and those simple pick&rolls led to countless wide open jumpshots for Paul, Griffin and Reddick. Those shots are pretty much layups for these guys.

Cuz has to work extremely hard for every single point. He had only 1 or 2 easy baskets in the paint. Our passing and screen setting still is suboptimal.

Rondo needs to up his intensity level. When you can't shoot, you have to attack the basket and play stellar defense. DC outplayed him the whole night.

But after alle it's positive, that we managed to get back into the game and in the end lost due to some poor decision making against a seasoned, smart team, which looks to make a run at the campionship trophy.

I would really like to see Rondo and Cousins running those low-block downscreen pick and rolls like Blake and Paul were doing throughout the game. That puts both Cousins and Rondo in excellent position to score and forces help to come to open up wing and corner threes on the weakside.

Indeed. Considering it worked EVERY time they tried it in the pre-season, and considering Rondo is so good in delivering the ball right where you need it, it's more than a little strange we're not using it as our bread-and-butter play when it stares us right in the face. I guess it's not dribble-drive enough. It's like we're actively trying to plan our game away from the strengths of our starting unit.

Why's that? He was more effective defensively against Griffin, than anybody else

That is true, but If WCS had been part of a 3 man Big rotation he may have done better?

Gay should be at the 3 for 80% of his minutes, Casspi for the rest

If coach wants to give Rondo and Ben minutes to DC and Marco That is fine by me

Stick with this 9 man rotation, have Cuz go down low more,

please stop all of these strange small ball line ups, get some stable line-ups and

we should be awesome
