I will call this a sweep for the spurs. I can't see the spurs losing to a eastern conf team after playing all the top dogs in the west.

Like the rest of you, I doube the Cavs can beat the Spurs. But I'm rooting and voted for Cavs. Go Lebron!

Maybe Varajeo can be tenacious enough to really get into Duncan and frusrtate him ala. Diop last lear in the WCF.

I guess we'll see a lot of double fouls called in the finals, caused by these two flopping off one another.

Nice image there, two guys flopping off each other like fish out of water in a very small bucket. ;)

I suppose it's worth mentioning that Cleveland won both games vs the Spurs this year, and have won the last 3 overall. Both games (this year) were close games, as well.

If that's any indication, the Cavs are both capable of beating the Spurs and beating them in close games.

NBA Finals intensity is obviously > regular season, but still.. can't count the Cavs out.

Only as long as it's equally worth mentioning that both those games were before the All-Star Break; Spurs have been on another plateau since then.

Would stern give the 4th ring to the spurs or would he give it to young lebron cos of pressure from nike. Lets wait and see ;)

Most likely bron the chosen one, but this season my predictions have been way off so just because i chose the cavs, spurs might win it all

I'd love to see the Cavs win it. They just have the little problem of being
not as good as the Spurs.

But if Lebron steps up and one of the other players bonzifies all bets are off.

As I've pointed out before there is no way that Stern could possibly want the boring Spurs in the finals.

I can't even believe the poll is this close....Spurs will destroy them. They are better at every position except small forward. They are also a lot deeper bench-wise. Plus they have both perimeter threats and a legitimate post presence to compliment their defense and experience.

But to be perfectly honest, I don't think I can stand to see them win another.

Who the hell got Steve Urkel to announce the starting line-ups?!?!?

ROFL!!!!!!!!

SA has the WORST announcer i have ever heard...

what a dork!

Cavs are lucky to only be down by 5 points after that first quarter considering that Duncan and Parker started so well and Lebron didn't have a field goal.

Ginobli with the first successful flop, so Varejao has some catching up to do.

Or alternately the much better, vastly more expereinced team, might jsut quietly rock them to sleep. ;)

As an aside, as we once again had the great smallball debate this year for wahtever reason, can I just point out the presence of Big Z, Duncan, Varejao, Elson, etc. etc. slamming around in the paint? Truly is odd how that seems to happen every year.

wow, terrible shot by Lebron with the Cavs down 8 and just over 1 minute left in the game --- if he presses the issue and finds a teammate (like he had onthe prior possession), the Cavs could've really made it interesting.

Edit: why does no one actually foul Tony Parker? They all just brush him as he shoots layups...is it his quickness?

Daniel Gibson with more points than Lebron in game 1. Not the outcome the Cavs wanted, but their defense performed pretty well down the stretch to make the game interesting.

This finals 2-3-2 format after all the other playoff rounds were 2-2-1-1-1 still seems somewhat odd to me. I suppose the Cavs could just steal the next game in San Antonio and then miraculously sweep 3 at home. But it would seem a bit weird that the Spurs with home court advantage would then have only gotten 2 home games with Cleveland lucking out to get 3 and then claim the title. But, I predicted San Antonio to win in 5 or 6 and I'll stick to that call.

Almost every team in the league has a big man as good or better than Elson. Regarding Cleveland's bigs, we all know who got them to where they are, so unless you were about to suggest a way to get Duncan, I'm not sure what your point is... ?
