Cisco fractures right forearm.

Don't have a link yet, but it was reported on Jim Kozimor's show that Cisco fractured his right forearm in a weight lifting session this morning.

:confused: I hope he's ok. I wonder how long it will take for it to heal...on a positive note, Donte might see some playing time.

Does this team have a way with injuries or what.

I would guess that Noc, or Mason (if his back gets better) Would play in front of Donte; possibly even Omri as well if he continues to play well in pre-season.

Hm, this could have a big impact on rotations ..

We'll see more Evans at the 2 behind Martin cause cisco wont be able to back that up .. which means more of beno and sergio at the point.

I know there are a lot of mason fans, but I hope omri and greene can get some time pt now.

I guess this means more playing time for Casspi.

One problem, though. Cisco could have helped out in the assist department, while Casspi's stat in Europe was 2.75 turnovers for every assist. If we assume that Evans and Martin will be getting most of the guard minutes, there really isn't anyone on the roster who can help now. This doesn't bode so well for the beginning of the season.

PS - On the Carmichael Dave show a week or so ago, they were taking bets on who'd be injured first, Cisco or Kevin. I didn't expect to know the winner THIS early!

Fractured forearm before a weight lifting session? Sheesh.

I just got a mental image of that "Got Milk" commercial where the old neighbor who never drinks milk goes to lift something and his arms get pulled out of their sockets.

These guys need more calcium

Both bones!? If so, ouch, that could keep him out for quite awhile if it's both the radius and the ulna, if it was a fracture related to the stress of intense weight it could be a long recovery.

I guess this makes all the who's starting at the SF discussions a complete waste of bandwidth.

Now, we can start the
"Will Tyreke or Beno backup Martin discussions?"
"Will PW change his mind about not starting Noc discussion?"
"Can Omri play the backup 2 discussion?"

The possibilities are endless. This is more exciting the the end of TDOS.

Thats what happens when youre rail thin. I can think of 3 guys on the team that could stand to gain 20 lbs or more. I wonder which arm is injured. Hopefully Garcia recovers quickly.

Yeah, these all are bound to happen...probably right here in THIS thread, in fact. I do see Nocioni getting alot more playing time now, and probably Omri and Brock the Beast...hopefully we'll still send Donte to Reno, though.

I'm more interested in knowing HOW this happened. I'm sure we remember all the initial stories about how Ostertag hurt his hand until the truth about him tripping over a box in the middle of his living room came to light...

This is true, Cisco has added alot of strength and muscle to his body(see picture)that once WAS rail thin, but not anymore. This is unfortunate, hopefully he can keep a little of that muscle while he's on the IR.

I hate hearing news like this, but for this team, it could be a blessing in disguise. An opportunity for more playing time just opened up. Mason still might start, and it has sounded as if Noc will be the 6th, and back up the 3 and the 4. So, either Donte or Omri is going to get a great opportunity to get in the rotation on a regular basis. Personally, I hope Omri gets the nod. At this point he appears more nba ready tahn Donte, but if Donte gets those minutes, thats great to.

This opens up playing time for both players, but I think one of them will move into the rotation of the top 7-8 players, which would hopefully mean a guaranteed 15-20 min a game.

Omri should start. Donte already is a known turnover machine. Omri will garner more attention on the court and off the court. Obviously Noc is the best option, but if he isn't coming off the bench we are going to score 90 ppg. So omri at starter makes sense because he has more professional experience than Donte and his skillset makes him ideal for the SF.

Ummm, Donte makes 1.4 turnovers for each assist. Omri makes 2.75 TO/A, easily the worst ratio on the team.

I'm not saying I'd start Donte over Omri, but if you want low turnovers, Omri's definitely not the guy you're after.
