Charlie Villanueva

...has apparently demanded a trade from the Bucks.

Personally, I'd prefer a much stronger, athletic shotblocker as our PF of the future. A Villanueva/Hawes frontcourt would be as soft as a baby's bottom.

But of course, as a finnse, jump shooting big, one would assume Geoff would be very interested. The guy is only 23, however, and is a legit 6-11 averaging a consistent 16 and 8 per 36 minutes over his career.

The Bucks are in a similar situation as us, and could swap bad contracts. They're looking for a SF (Artest?) the most.

Bet he regrets opening the door for Yi with all of that "plenty of PT for both me and Yi" stuff back over the summer.

But yes, oh lord is he soft. At least he's young and soft, but you can stack soft players with talent up to the ceiling and never make a scary team out of it.

While extremely soft I don't think it matters much with this team (the Kings). If we get production from our PF spot we usually win. It's only a 4 game sampling, but when out PF spot goes for 15 or more points we are 3-1. Wins against PHI/SA/IND and the loss to PHO (who plays a lot of small ball). The rest of Moores stats really don't add up to much except the rebounding. When he gets more than 9 a game we are .500.

I think Villanueva wont make much difference on this team unless he matches his potential (16ppg 10rpg 1.0bpg type guy).

He will probably always be soft, and that would hurt us in the playoffs (if we made it) but if I had to choose to let Artest walk for nothing, or get Charlie back i would take Charlie.

EDIT: just did some stat lookups on this guy.. Rookie year when starting 14ppg 8rpg, last year when getting more than 25 minutes (start, and bench play) 15.7ppg 8.2rpg.. Not bad, but not great.

One thing I would like to set straight, and hopefuly do so without seeming to be on Hawes payroll. I watched this kid play in college, if only for one year. Is the kid the next Shaq? No! But he is a tough kid with an attitude. He will back down from no one. Will he win every battle? No. But he will try.

I would not compare him to Rudy at Norte Dame, because he's far more skilled. But think of that attitude, and you'll have an idea of how he thinks. My point is that he's not soft, and with time and added muscle I think he'll prove my point.
