Chandler to OKC cancelled

Wow thats crazy, now it will be interesting to see how players on both sides will react after knowing they had been traded by the team they are playing for

LMAO @ the thought that Chandler was so depressed that he got traded to the Thunder that he lit himself up a phat one. Hahahahaha.

Apparently the doctor that conducted the physical uncovered a "turf toe" injury that will likely stay with him for the next couple of years. The doctor also said that surgery was not an option.

they bailed because of turf toe?

this was supposed to be their move to respectability and all, and they bail because of turf toe??

Maybe someone woke the **** up and realized that a guy whose offensive numbers are inflated because he's playing with the greatest PG right now (debatable, I know) and whose defensive numbers are inflated since nobody on that front line (pedja, west) cares about rebounding or blocking. Throw in the fact that they would have to pay 12 million, and thanks but no thanks. They have Krstic, Wicox and Smith, and a chance to land Thabeet. Why the hell they wanted Chandler only god knows.

because I could score over Krstic, Wilcox and Smith?

I'm not sure why people so consistenly miss the vital importance of the defensive/rebounding roleplaying big man. Almost every elite team has them. And other than the Gambit possibiity, OKC will never be anything but lottery losers while they continue to trot their merry band of middling old PFs and call them a frontline. They needed exactly what Chandler could bring. Does not have to be him, but those guys aren't often available, and this one was only because of financial concerns. I would be upset if I were one of their fans.

I said they had bit men. I didn't say they were servicable. From what I've seen on here, you are one of the more intelligent and knowledgable posters on here. Does it make sense to cripple your budget on a injury prone big man that relies solely on others for production when you will NOT be going anywhere this year, and more likely the next, @ 12 million a year in an economy when nobody is making revenue? Rather use the bit men you have, develop the youth, use this to get a higher draft pick where you can get the same thing in Thabeet (or whatever shot blocker you want), that doesn't cost you an arm and a leg. I live in Chicago, I've watched Chandler play for a long time before Paul was there to ally oop it to him. He is long, and that's it. He is not the missing piece, and especially not at 12 freaking million a year.

Wooowwww... crazy. Watch Geoff step in and trade for Chandler a la the Shareef signing.

Failed physical? No problem in Sactown!

Ya know...Mikki and Sheldon gets pretty close to the Chandler contract as a pair of ending (semi-ending in Mikki's case) bigs... :p

Too bad we released Quincy prematurely or could pretty much exactly match. Still could with Mikki/Bobby
