Cavs willing to take on a bad contract..

If the Kings truly feel this draft is a steaming pile of Wolf crap, this might be the least exciting but possibly the best strategic choice. They may just do it.

Kings trade 7th and Cisco for Ramon Sessions......

I don't think Cisco or Beno's contracts are that bad.

Honestly, at this point, I trust Petrie's ability to draft a good prospect at 7 far more than I do his ability to make a trade that doesn't make me want to vomit. This deal for Ramon Sessions is about as "meh" as it gets, though. Thank God it's Chad Ford reporting it, otherwise I'd worry about it being true.

I sincerely hope this is just a thought, and not an actual rumour, because if something like this went down it would show a distince lack of foresight. Horrible move for the Kings. Neither Garcia nor Beno have horrible contracts. They're not great, but they're not awful either.

No. No, no, no.

Everything you hear today is apparently false. Journalistic accountability is at an all time low. Move along.

That's one of the downsides of the internet age. Every single rumor or rumbling that exists gets updated and passed along round the clock. There's no garbage filter on the internet. No need to weed out the implausible, be selective, etc. TV news and print media had built in filters because they only had so much space and time to report things in.

"Would the Kings be willing to give up the No. 7 pick if the Cavs gave them Ramon Sessions and took back Francisco Garcia? The Kings are already under the salary cap, but Garcia has $12 million over two years on his contract, and Sacramento would love to move him."

Forget for a second that Garcia is right now the de facto starting SF for the Kings, that he's been lauded for being a good teammate and "veteran" voice for this young team or even that his $6 million cap figure in no way handcuffs the Kings this upcoming season and is actually a huge bonus the next season whe he's an ending contract. Don't even worry about any of those points.

Just tell me why on earth the team with the most capspace in the entire league would give up a draft pick just to create more capspace?

This is a figment of Chad Ford's imagination and an especially bad one at that.

Even if the justification (in Ford's mind) is that the Maloofs are broke and looking to slash payroll to field a team on the cheap (flirting with the minimum team salary as they did this year) I can't imagine Stern and the other owners would allow them to. If they don't have the money to run a team (especially given the arena situation) I think the league would take over and force a sale.

But again, this is all unsubstantiated BS. I am hoping Petrie has a great offseason that doesn't revolve around dumping salary or trading for relative non-factors like Raymond Felton. Tonight will be interesting.

I'd be more interested in Varajeo, given it sounds like Daly ended the season on a bad note with the team. If Daly doesn't return, which seems likely if you believe Grant/Voison, which I'm not sure I do, but if he does walk then I'd highly consider the #7 for Varejeo. But it's tough when we're on the outside looking in. Don't know what management knows.

I read this too in Voison's article but it doesn't make sense.

"He left for vacation in a lousy mood; after being replaced by Cousins during the season finale against the Lakers, the veteran center stormed off the court and was still seething afterward in the locker room.

Dally played 45 minutes in that game and wasn't Cousin's ejected? Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story...sheesh

Varajao reminds me ALOT of a guy we already have, Jason Thompson. Varajao is a better defender, but JT's defense was starting to get much better towards the end of last season, plus Varajao has some injury concerns. I like him, but I think #7 is just too much.
