California Classic Day 2

G league a lower level than summer league. A lot of what Woodard does in G League doesn’t translate as those wide open drives won’t be there. King looks more translatable
Huh? The summer league has guys that will be working at home depot next month. The G League has way more talent. Yes the top few draft picks are high level, but it drops off fast. Plus G league they actually get to practice as a team.

Meh. This is about the expectation for any rookie last year. Essentially a lost year for everyone. We're just spoiled that Hali was able to overcome all that. And it's basically all offense right now; the defense has been largely excellent from everyone. Let's see how things look after a few more games and they shake the rust off.

I'll make more definitive judgements at next years summer league. If we don't see the growth, you cut bait then.
I’m not sure about that. If they were random summer league roster guys, we wouldn’t even give them a second thought. 2nd round picks hardly pan out, so I’m not disappointed at all. I’m not going to lose sleep over keeping them. Just have found them unimpressive, pretty much blending in with the rest of the SL guys.

Woodards stroke at the line looked nice after getting taken down. Maybe he should have Holmes beat the crap out of him and slow him down before every game. ;)

summer league has guys drafted and guys in their second year. G league doesn’t have those guys. The same “Home Depot” guys will be playing in Europe or G league once the season starts

Mitchell finishing at/around the rim looks to be a strength early. Haven't seen any concern yet him struggling with size among the trees.

His hesitation is a go to type of move. The good sign is the Kings coaches are actively trying to force him to do the necessary PG things in the modern league like looking to shoot off a pick and roll. That's the type of thing right now that makes the difference between being a rotation player and starter. Role player and star.

His patience in the PnR is going to absolutely play with the big league squad. Going to look hell of a lot different with Holmes as the roll man and Hali/Barnes on the wing.
