Bynum to the Kings

Kidd basically has no years left in the tank. He is as good as he's ever going to be right now. Next year he'll be worse, the year after that worse still. You're noticing that Kobe will start slowing down at 32-33 or somesuch, and ignoring that Kidd is 34 already. Ask Gary Payton how quickly oyu can become just another guy when you're an aging PG. If Jason was 30, sure. But not at his age with that contract.

So what you're saying is that Bibby would be the best available PG that the Lakers could actually acquire on the trade market.

Thats what they have been saying about Kidd for a while now...
Next year hes gonna be worse...the year comes and he drops a dozen+ triple doubles...then they say the same thing next year
The only thing in decline for Kidd is his scoring, which is gradually going down by 1 or 2 pts. His all around numbers are still there.
He actually posted career highs in rebound this year (8.2 for a damn point guard) and he hasnt averaged less than 8.3 assists since his rookie year (9.2 this season).
He has never been a good shooter, so his fg% is at 40%, which is career average...although he has become a better shooter from long range as he started to leave his prime speedy quick days.

If you watch Kidd play, he can still run the break with ease, still execute jaw dropping passes, and still play great D on his opponent evident by his NBA All-Defensive Second team this year, All-Defensive First last year)

Everybody talks about how good Bynum is GOING to be, i dont see it, but at this point i would risk that for a chance to step our game up...but please, no Rodmunch!

He's got at least 2 more years to come into his own, but he showed some nice improvement over his rookie season. He -is- a center (hard position to step into) and he -is- the youngest player ever drafted.

Artest for Bynum/Radmanovic would probably make the most sense for both sides IF a deal were to go through.

Artest is an extreme risk for any team. His trade value is probably so low right now that it's in Sac's best interest to bear the cross and deal w/ his problems for as long as you guys will put up w/ it.

Why, are the Maloofs committed to trade him this offseason? What's the deal w/ him?

EDIT - I read this quote at RealGm. Chuckled at this:

However - you are not understanding that the Maloofs DO NOT WANT RON ARTEST ON THE TEAM ANYMORE. I know this first hand. HE IS GONE. if the best offer for Ron was a garbage bag full of dead cats, they'd take it, because they do not want him to interfere with the rebuilding process they started when they fired Musselman.

Mo Williams

ACTUALLY acquire...is the key phrase. The Lakers have no money to spend and IMO have little to offer the Bucks in a sign and trade. And you could debate who's better between the two anyways. I like Mo williams a lot, but Mike Bibby has done an awful lot more than Mo Williams has at this point. Also Bibby is a 2 year commitment whereas Mo Williams would probably be a 6 year commitment.

I dont think the lakers would trade bynum for Artest, Kwame for artest and some fillers seems more likely.

I think that they will use Bynum for a Jason Kidd, jermain oneal deal.

I would have agreed with you up until a few days ago. But it seems Kobe is exerting a GREAT deal of pressure on Laker management to bring in vet talent, and Artest was one name he wanted in the past. The question seems to be: How badly does the Laker management want to keep Kobe happy? This might be a rare case where it actually might behoove the Kings to make public an Artest for Bynum trade offer. Then we can get Kobe to push it for us. He'll be our agent.

Sounds good to me. You know the Laker organization is centered around Kobe and keeping him happy. They traded away Shaq and Phil Jackson was looking or left, but has a relationship with the opposite sex (owner's daughter or something like that) so he stayed.

Sounds like a good idea to put the offer out there and then have Kobe lobby for it. He is with a few professional athlets that has that kind of power of influence.

I honestly don't see Artest going to the Lakers. I can't see them parting with the one piece they have who I think I'd want in order to trade Ron (Bynum). I wouldn't be opposed to floating a Miller for Brown/Cook trade to see if they'd bite.
