The NBA trend is definitely the 3, which opens up the floor especiallly for the big men. That makes Buddy and his shooting even more important. When he has a hot hand which is part of nearly every game, guys like Bagley and Giles are going to have a much easier time scoring.
I was just watching some championship series between the Celtics and Lakers from 2010 and earlier. It is amazing how the game has changed in only 10 years. Players passed up 3 point shots constantly. The focus was the 15 foot jump shot and layups. Buddy is the right kind of player at the right time.
