Brook Lopez?

There seems to be a lot of talk around the need to trade players like Brook Lopez as the Bucks wrestle to find some salary space with two highly paid superstars. Would he be out of our range, capwise? As has been discussed here before, his defense and 3pt acumen would be pretty amazing as a backup to Sabonis.

Lopez is making $23M, so we'd have to send out something like Huerter+Lyles to match.

If the Bucks want salary space, we really can't help much. We don't have a whole ton of room under the apron to move salary into.

Would be nice to find a young piece in this backup spot. Cheaper, hopefully cost controlled, and less injury prone than what we already have.

…and then it would be a one-year rental. Thanks for the fiscal context, Cap!

I was a big advocate for drafting Queta but he just didn’t put it together with the kings. Really bothered me that he couldn’t rebound all that well given his size and athleticism. He is doing a pretty decent job in Boston, good for him.

Haven’t watched Lopez this year so I don’t know how he is doing but he scored one point while taking 2 shots (both missed) tonight in 32 minutes. Could have just been an off night. I like the idea of him but not sure what deal would make sense for the Bucks.
