Brad scared to shoot?

Seriously...

He's been like this for a while.

He pump faked a shot when nobody was within 5 feet of him. Who's he pump faking?

And then he lets Devin Harris, a guy who is a foot and a half smaller, stuff his shot out on the 3 point line?

He looks like a dear in headlights when he's attempting to shoot.

Oh good. Another thread devoted to picking on Miller...

Sorry, ezekielbear, but I don't think Miller deserves to be singled out any more than anyone else on the team.

Brad has always - at least in a Kings uniform - showed reticence about shooting mid-range jumpers.

Not really attempting to pick him out.

Just saying...

He's running away from shots. It's one of the few bright spots he brings...and...he's running away from it.

Shoot the damn ball. You can make them.

No need to be grumpy. I want him to take the shoots. Not trying to pick on him

He's not running away. He's showing the same reluctance he's shown most of the time. Miller doesn't WANT to be the first or second option. He's much more comfortable setting picks, etc.

I hate to see people pointing fingers at this team.

Bottom line? THEY AREN'T THAT GOOD RIGHT NOW!!!!! And, until and unless they get some firm, consistent leadership from their coach, they're only going to get worse.

I still think he has to shoot when he's open. He's so good at it.

Everybody has a problem right now to be honest, coach down to the bottom of the bench. Every person could have fingers pointed at them for a variety of different reasons.

I just wish he'd take the shots he is so good at.

I wish the staff would get him involved to take those shots. It's just as much their fault.

I'm saying it's nothing new. I think it's a basic mind-block. He doesn't realize he's that good at those shots, and it doesn't matter what anyone says. At least 60% of the time he seems hesitant. I don't think there's anything that can be done to correct it at this point in his career, unfortunately.

I agree that Brad should shoot more of those shots, and I have to say, earlier I wanted him to be traded, but now, I realized i'm pretty happy he's still a king. I hope he stays for a while.

You just sounded just like me;)

Brad has always been afraid to shoot. Maddening after awhile because he never learns. But its nothing new. What is new is that the system for whihc he was best suited is no longer in palce, and so he doesn't have the ball as much, and doesn't look comfortable with reads or decisions.

Brad looks so lost out there this year, its kind of sad. Miller is definitely not the type of center you want while running this offense.

You are absolutely correct, and I don't see why others jump to Brad's defense on this subject...he is, and has been for 2 years, afraid to take open shots and it has nothing to do with his careful shot selection, he just can't pull the trigger....this much is intuitively obvious to the most casual observer.

Maybe because we've seen more of him than you have?

Maybe because we know that Brad just doesn't envision himself as a scorer and probably never will?

yeah... miller doesnt want to shoot, artest cant shoot half the time and bibby is just....

Brad looks like a rookie out there, he has for a while. Bibby looks terrible and needs to stop jacking up ill-advised shots. If I can't say that without having eyes rolled at me by a moderator, what is the point of being a member of a message board? Isn't this the place were we discuss and debate our team?

We like Brad Miller a lot! He isn't afraid to shoot--that is just not his game. We wish it were so. It is what it is and the threads are getting boring as he gets picked apart. He had a great game tonight and is getting back into his game. He plays the game so well and is a smart player, so get over it. If there is a problem with our team, it is not Brad Miller. Think about it.

And does anyone else think that the camera work this year is not as good as usual? It is so annoying to hear Grant talking about a play that we haven't even seen.

I think passing is part of offense. Brad looked pretty darn good at that.
He looked good for half of the game, but he did make a stupid, stupid pass across the entire court. If Muss keeps running the offense through him, Miller is very useful, if the offense isn't run out of the high post through Miller, what is the point of having him?

Brad was great tonight. 10 boards in his short time and he was the ONLY one who looked for Kevin. If it wasnt for Brad we would not have come back in this one.

im not the only kings fan frustrated with miller. if he's so comfortable setting screens he needs to go work for Rent-A-Center. we need a baller. shoot the ball.

To me it has always seemed that Brad had prefered to pass rather than shoot. Having watched him since his Chicago days I have ALWAYS been more upset about the shots he passed up rather than the ones he took. Sad truth is that passing and shooting are what Brad does best and when your a Center in the NBA that is both odd and frustrating when the board don't come and point gaurds are dunking on you.
