Brad Miller

Now THIS is why I love the board.

It was only ONE WEEK ago that half of you in this thread wanted to trade Miller because "his defense is what is holding this team back," or "look at how much more energetic we are without him," blah blah blah...

Well two games versus the Jazz later when we struggle to consistently score the ball and suddenly we all love Brad for his offense again.

Based on recent play the next "Got to go" will be either Bibby or SAR. That is until Bibby puts up 40 and SAR goes for a 20-10. Then we will hear about how "you knew he had it in him all along."

This is not a shot at all of you in the thread, just some of the more fickle ones...

What are you talking about? SO the people who wanted him traded for a defensive player like Chandler can not praise him at the same time?

No questions here. Brad was CLUTCH! When its on, he has such a sweet shot! And he does play better mad.;)

brad does not play better mad!!! are you sure we are talking about the same brad. he blows up at the end of games when he's upset with officials. he loves to foul, out of frustration. ive always seen him as a meltdown waiting to happen when things arent going right. this is the one game where it was happening and the nice shots kept him cool before it could happen. but he is absolutely not a good player when upset.

anyways well done brad. waita keep you cool and get that must needed win!

seems to be a number of peoples comments noticeably missing from this thread....

SK23 comes immediately to mind...

wonder why...

IF he can stay healthy, Brad is a tremendous asset....and his defense isnt nearly as poor as those with an agenda would like to believe....

What agenda is that? I would like to know. Come on tell us don't keep us in the dark.

No, everyone is entitled to praise any player they want, they are all Kigns and we are all Kings fans.

I was just pointing out how humorous it can be to see people put Brad "on notice" one week and then praise him the next. Just saying that the doghouse seems to have a revolving door, and everyone spends some time in there.

I am pretty sure half of you would want to trade Lebron if he was a King because he isn't clutch enough...

those that constantly are wanting him shipped out and generally have a great deal of disdain for the guy....

Wait. Is that bad?

I am guilty of bad-mouthing Brad. Now I am on his bandwagon until the next game.

The key is when Brad channels the anger. When he does, it definitely energizes his game, gives him some fire and makes him more aggressive. Sometimes Brad plays too passive and unselfish.

We have a general rule around here. You keep your comments about the topics at hand and NOT about other members of the board. It's just better that way...

Making comments about how you think it's humorous, etc. just put some people on the defensive. And that's not what the board is about.

People are finally getting excited about this team again. If they were talking about trading Miller before, so what? They're entitled. They're fans. They're on a message board.

We're all in the same boat. It's not like you're on the outside looking in or anything.

;)

Uhh, weren't you the one that made an entire thread about how mad people who wanted to ax Brad and Rick made you?

Brad was awesome, he said in his interview he was pissed, so i think someone should mad every once in a while :) :p
I think he needs to get pissed EVERY game:D we dont need the sleepy, whiny Brad. lol

Brad is awesome. I don't know why people want to trade him, he played good defense today(3 blocks!!!). He did look faster though after his week off... Also Brad is CLUTCH. Without him we couldn't have won today. 22/10/3/3...

WTG Brad! This is the first time that I can remember (in a long time) that he has channeled his anger the right way. I was afraid we were getting ready to see another downward spiral...but instead he did his team proud. It was great!

Brad did look better tonight on defense than I have seen in a long time. That kind of looked like the Brad Miller I saw in Chicago and Indiana a few years ago. :)

There is more truth to that than you may think. There has long been a school of thought suggesting that Brad reflects those around him. Is not a leader, but a follower. And when he played with tough guys around him, including Artest, in Chicago and Indiana, he became tougher. Move him over to softieville, and he slumped back and got lazy. We'll see. He's still about as athletic as my grandmother, and she's been dead 10 years. Only so much you can do wiht that package. But just toughening up and trying would be a huge step forward for him and us.

I just thought I'd let you know, you get me to laugh out loud pretty much once a day, Brick.

:D

Anyways, Nice game Brad!

BLOCK BLOCK BLOCK!!! I think you're on point with that! Especially when before his first game vs. Boston Ron was saying how he wants to help get Brad a Championship! 3 Blox and a double crotch Karate Chop! I Loved it! BTW, thanx again to Bobby for keeping me on the edge of my throne.

Just for the record, since I am one of the one's that have said he'll have to go in the future, my point stance hasn't changed. I said he played great tonight, becuase it's the truth. You can't take that away from him. I also questioned why he moved a little, and I stress a little, quicker than normal tonight after a rest. My thoughts on his athleticism hasn't changed. He is still a weakness in the interior. One game a good defender does not make. If he keeps this intensity level up though, he can be a great benefit to the team down the stretch.

I've also said in the past he has many good attributes, and if you're going to trade him it better truly be an upgrade. He's not a horrible player, never said that. But, my point still stands that his athleticism will obviously continue to decline with age. It's not going to get any better. But, he still pisses me off that he doesn't work out the way he needs to.

One other valuable thing in my mind that i brought up in the gametime thread re: Miller is how he worked the Arco crowd into the mix. It's no secret that things are coming alive again at Arco and none of us can forget the magic of the 'other gang' a few years back.

This game revolves around the fanbase. Needed entertainment. The fans complete the equation and finance this sport. They make it all possible, this incredible career of the NBA athlete. Given all the changes, the struggles and the uncertainties around this club it was just too good for words to see Brad not only nail those two crucial 3's (perfect shots by the way, nothing but net) but to high five about 4 or 5 fans courtside on his way back down the court. That, my friends, is part of the magic that Arco has been hungry for. Unplanned, spontaneous and perfect to the moment. Athlete giving back to the fans.

That's what really brought it all home for me. Not to mention the extraordinary performance by Bobby Jackson to let us not forget too much about the "Era."

But to have Brad Miller pull this one away for us and then to get up so close and personal w/ the fans who make this game go, well that's truly remarkable.

Everybody is feeling better about things and that is good. It's a new love affair and looks like we got a new core. Brad fits in real good w/ Bibby and Artest. That's a formula that has lots of promise...

And Brad, you are helping Arco come alive again w/ all your buds...

It was simply magical. High fives all around....

No more Peja to be distracted or considered, Brad ranks amongst our increasing list of go-to guys in the clutch. Very cool. Yeah, Brad!!

Give me one center in the NBA that's mobile, plays good defense, can shoot somewhere in the same ball park as Brad, and can pass the way he does. Hell, you can even remove Brads passing. Someone that is moblie, plays good defense, and can spread the floor. .
When did Brad become a good defender?

Props to Miller's shooting last night. I love watching that dude rain threes.

Well that seems to be where the cutoff is isn't it? The reason anyone wants Brad gone is because his defense sucks. Well, what would be the point of trading for another bad defender with offense? Plus there is no Center with the offensive capability as far as shooting at the perimieter (not inside) and passing than Brad Miller. So I said even if granted this so-called Center that everyone wants can't pass, people want a guy that can spread the floor (which we would desperately need) Bonzi, Reef, Artest, and "insert center" all working on the block? Can you say.. Crowded? So he needs to spread the floor, he also needs to be able to play defense (as to the qualifications the members so aptly listed) and he needs to be able to rebound. So find me this so called center... I would really dearly love for us to find one. What I proposed is that we get a BACKUP center with athleticism, length, and shotblocking and or rebounding ability for those nights when the likes of a Warrick or a small quick big man is playing center. There's nobody we are going to be able to find with Brads ability... (Besides superstars)
