That's all I have to say!!!

P.S.-Until he plays better he will be referred to as the kitten not the CAT!!

The only guy who shot decently was Darius.

Even House, who has really been our spark off the bench, couldn't hit the broad side of a barn...

^^yup...I did keep waiting for Cat to get hot but he didn't even attempt many shots...i dunno...two bad shooting games in a row? sux

He just listened to all those fans that say if you are having an off night you should stop shooting. Seriously though that sucked, and Cat sucked worse of all.

What a DEEP Disappointment this game was. Where's the heart? Totally lame effort. Our backcourt might as well not even dressed. Didn't think Bibby had it in him to play this way in a game we needed to at least feel good about. Meow to the kitty as well. Go Suns tonite.

If this game was a DEEP disappointment to anyone, they haven't been paying attention.

This current version of the Kings IS NOT a championship calibre team. It is not even an elite team. It is a mediocre team at best. I love the Kings but even I, arguably one of the most homer fans in the history of Kingsfans.com, have had to face the truth.

THIS IS NOT A CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM!!!!!

They don't know each other; they aren't used to playing with each other; they don't know when or if three of their top players will return. They saw two veteran anchors of the team traded away in mid-season - something that's never happened before in the Petrie era.

Kenny Thomas and Brian Skinner ARE NOT premiere players. Cuttino Mobley is a top-notch scorer but not much more. Corliss will at least mix it up in the paint but he's not top of the line either.

Some of you actually act surprised and I am just quite frankly stunned.

This is a team in transition. We will be lucky to make it out of the first round. Period.

Now, if that bothers some of you I am heartily sorry but to continue to get mad at the current roster because they aren't meeting your cast-in-stone expectations is just wrong.

We don't have a top notch front court right now. You don't win games without one.

Yes, it's hard to face losses but it's just really aggravating when people act as though this is a top elite team that just isn't trying. Folks, the "top elite" status is gone.

Did Kings really want this game? 6th is currently the best option.

that aint the point. the kings have been a 50+ win team for, what, 5 years now? they are headed to the playoffs, while the jazz will be heading to the golf courses. an "elite" team like the kings should show more fire and pride in themselves in situations like this. a losing road record, and a sub-50 win season are definitely steps in the wrong direction. its about pride, intensity, resolve, and all the other characteristics seen in that commercial. the kings have retained few of those characteristics these past coupla games. thats not good, w/ the playoffs right around the corner.

Sad but true^... But still we could have beat Utah tonight I really believe that. We didn't show any heart, and this late in the season thats just weird for me to see from the Kings. We can lose games if they just don't go our way(G.S. last year) but to lay an egg like that, with no sense of urgency is just so.... unKinglike.

Well there have been very few things that have been "king-like" as of late.

Is what it is, nothing I can do about it, I didn't call for it.

Agreed! But Utah really really Sucks. They won 5 out of their last 23. We should have won this game.

I think that and then have to say to myself..."This isn't those Kings". Hopefully we'll get back to that sooner than later, but it's not really fair to this current group to expect them to live up to a reputation created by an almost entirely different group.

That's about what he takes each game. He just missed most of them this game.

No doubt...we need him to keep shooting too. The guy is streaky. When you're a shooter you have to keep shooting. It's up to Rick to sit him and give someone else a shot when he can't make anything. But Cuttino passing up shots would just bog down the offense.

This team reminds me of the Mavs last year. They were in a transition period aswell. We as a team have no identity. It will take time. All we can hope for is to be healthy and hope our top players play thier best if we have any hope of having a long run in this post season. If we do not make it far I will be ok with that because I will know Petrie will work hard in the offseason to make this team better. We are lucky we have one of the best GMs and owners in the business. Do not be upset just enjoy the ride and hope for the best.

Exactly. Thank you...

I agree totally with kennadog and VF. I think this is the first time I hae said this in six seasons, but I am looking forward to the off season. While I will enjoy every game of the PO, I am kind of excited to see Petrie's "master plan" unfold. I know he must already have a plan in mind. I know that it is not over and anything is possible, but I can't wait to start over next season. All the wins from here on out are bonus. I'll cheer like we are going to win it all, but will not be quite as disappointed if we don't.

Lets just hope GP can make the moves like Dallas did in the offseason and get this team back to elite status. And lets hope we can get a healthy season from all our main guys next season.

One problem...the Mavs payroll is almost double the payroll cap this year and is approx $27,000,000 higher than the Kings this year. MC apparently wants to buy a championship no matter how much he loses in money. Maloofs want to win, but they're not that nuts.

Yep, I'm with you. This is a different team, and transferring our old expectations onto this current group just isn't practical, or fair. I'm going to enjoy every minute of this season, and I would love to see the Kings do well, but like you, I am not going to sit around complain about not making it farther than previous years, because I think we have our work cut out for us trying to get out of the first round.

New team aside, the effort was not there. I can excuse the bunch not having played together, not knowing each other's moves etc....but to go out and put forth the lame effort they did last night is inexcusable. The kings are a much better team then Utah and to go out and stink it up like they did is terrible. They better find a way to get their offense back or its going to be 4 and out in the first round. It almost seems like they didn't want to win the game. Its one thing to come out flat against the suns and play bad but to follow it up with a worse effort again one of the worst teams in the league,, I just don't know. They need to come out on Wednesday and at least have a good effort. Winning the game would be nice. going in to the playoffs with a 3 game losing streak is not good.

word.

i'm gonna say it again. this is about the kings pride in themselves. without confidence, they will go nowhere in the playoffs. they may be goin nowhere anyways, but they should still play with some heart. there's a difference between expecting your team to excel and expecting your team to exert an effort, and i expect my favorite basketball team, the sacramento kings, to exert an effort. VF, you've said it on several occasions: nba players get paid way too much money not to try their hardest. the game last night, obviosuly, was of no consequence, but thats no excuse to play the way they did against a team who has played as poorly as the jazz have recently. the kings may no longer be considered among the "elite" by the analysts, but that doesnt mean they should play into the analysts perceptions of what kind of team they are. i dont like steven a. smith. he said that he hoped seattle would draw a "soft" opponent like sacramento. but right now, the kings have to prove steven a wrong, and not the other way around. if the kings are the underdog, and the fans consider them the underdog, and they themselves believe they are the underdog, then they need to start playing like the underdog, and not the poor, hurt, crippled, pathetic, outcast dog.
