Hey, its all fantasy anyway.![]()
So are most of the comments coming out of William Phillips' mouth.

Hey, its all fantasy anyway.![]()
It would have to be the offer of the century, IMHO. Petrie made it pretty clear - especially for Petrie - that negotiations are over. The Kings have moved on. William Phillips is the only one doing any talking right now. And he's got some real talking to do. Unless he can convince some other team to court Petrie with candy, flowers, a shotblocking big man who can also rebound, etc. I don't think there's any chance of him even having Petrie return his calls.
Solid and deep = crap on the old win it all scale.
Get me KG and Ron and you can have everything else. I'll build a contender wiht the scraps. Be hardpressed not to. If Jermaine and Ron and Foster, old Reggie, and Jamal Tinsley can win 60, then KG and Ron and whatever we have leftover can get close.
Keep Bibby and it would be lights out. Even if you don't, it might be lights out. Maybe get your money our of Salmons as the starter -- only place he has ever played worth a damn anyway.
So Bonzi, Bibby, Brad for KG? In an instant. Sign Wright or somebody off the FA market and go contend.
I couldn't have said any better myself. Damm thats hard for me to admit. Seriously, you give me Ron and KG, I don't give a damm if we still have KT.![]()
S & T Bonzi to Detroit for:
Carlos Delfino (1 million contract, solid young player with good potential)
Dale Davis (3.5 million expiring deal, solid backup C the Kings are looking for)
1.5 million trade exemption (salary cap relief)
Draft pick(s) - Maybe Detroit's #1 since they also have a #1 from Orlando
What do you think?
Remember that Petrie is pretty good poker player. He has Phillips backed into a corner. All he has to do is sit back and listen. If nothing tickles his fancy then nothing happens. Basicly Phillips has to do all the work.![]()
Besides it's out of Petrie's hands now. Whatever happens to Bonzi is up to Phillips and we all know if it's up to Phillips the Kings will get the best sign and trade option he can fetch. Petrie doesn't have to lift a finger.
And by being so steadfast in saying they are not interested in a sign and trade at this point really puts the pressure on Phillips and any teams fighting over Bonzi's services.to come up with the best they can.
Or it could REALLY mean Petrie is no longer interested, which is I think the most logical conclusion to reach.
---------------
As an aside, I would sure like to see leaks from ANY of the usual sources saying that even one team is interested in Bonzi at this point. The silence is deafening.
When the wise man points at the moon, the idiot looks at the finger.
I don't know but I immediately thought of when Petrie quoted Confucius:

okay... i have a probably unpopular bonzi s&t idea that could land us kg at the trade deadline....

true but we would only have them for half the season and kg the rest... the knicks want to trade qrich, james and taylor(no idea why)...
the wolves are going nowhere fast... and they would get rid of kg's ginormous contract and still have the pieces to build around their next high draft pick... without kg they win 10 games max... that should be good enough for a top 3 pick....
and we get kg....

that lineup could beat the spurs, heat, pistons and mavs...
Atlanta Hawks forward Al Harrington, rumored for weeks to be headed back to Indiana as a part of a sign-and-trade deal with the Pacers, plans to fire his agent, according to a newspaper report.
Harrington took steps Tuesday to sever ties with agent Andy Miller, a move that could have serious ramifications for his move out of Atlanta, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported on its Web site.
according to ESPN, Al Harrington is going to fire his agent... this opens some new doors for the Kings... first it opens up trade possiblities with Indiana and their trade exception and opens possbilities with Atlanta.....
if the kings can get Indiana's trade exception, they could S&T Bonzi for a big like David Harrisson and Josh Powell, without taking back equal salaries... indiana are over stocked with players and O'neal wants to play with bonzi.... indiana and sacto would both still be under the luxury cap.... the kings would get a young, athletic big with potential.... indiana would get a coveted shooting guard that their star player wants...

Harrison and Powell for Bonzi? no way i would rather have Foster and Saurunas.
the point of the trade is to get something for bonzi AND keep the kings under the luxury tax... the kings would only do a sign and trade, if they get something in return AND stay under the luxury tax...
a trade for jeff foster and saurunas would put them over the luxury tax.... a S&T for jeff foster only may keep them under the luxury tax...
otherwise, the kings will let Bonzi walk for nothing....
Just out of curiosity how long do Bird rights last? If he sat half the season (or longer?) could we sign and trade him at the trade deadline?
I know such a scenario would never play out but humor me.
