I count 7th out of 15, and I was impressed when he was both with the Rox, and Philly. He is no offencive force, but thats ok from a PF, and he is no C-Webb, but who is?

Well this does take away some of our flexibility to make other trades, but it's nice to have a solution at SG now, even if it means Evans is probably gone. I've been thinking maybe Garcia could fill in more as a SF and that would allow for both Martin and Evans to get some minutes, but realistically, there aren't many minutes available for a second backup SG. I guess Martin or Garcia could possibly provide some PG duties? Eh, more likely is Evans is gone which is sad because I think we were just beginning to see his potential. We're just beginning to see Kevin Martin's potential too though and it's really one or the other. But besides that, I like the Wells pickup. That solves the SG problem neatly and I think he's going to thrive here.
So now something has to be done about PF and there's also room on the roster for a backup PG and a backup C. We still have the MLE which is good and we still have a collection of backup PFs we could trade. I would like to see an offer made to Reggie Evans. He's a role-player, but the right kind of role-player for us - and realistically I think that's the most we can hope for right now.

I figured Bobby would be dealt, either this offseason or before the deadline, simply because I couldn't see the Kings re-signing him considering his age and injuries. Still, Bobby has been my favorite King almost from the moment Petrie signed him. I'd like to see him stay healthy and have a good season, as this next contract is almost certainly his last.

As I said, I'm not upset with the deal, but there are still roster problems that need to be addressed (the PF spot) and now a new problem (backup PG). As I mentioned previously, I like House, but as the team's 3rd PG. Now if he is re-signed he may be Bibby's primary backup, meaning there may be some truth to the rumor of the Kings interest in Juan Dixon.

Excellent trade. Though my second favorite player was traded (BJAX) it is a fair deal. Bonzi is a nice all around two guard who can post up nicely. Can't remember the last SG we had who could do that. He can also play the 3 though we don't need himreally to(don't want to squish the younger guys). Bonzi brings energy, attitude, and can create his own shot. Not the greatest SG, but you have to play to your team and Bonzi i think fits right in. Nice move GP.

As an aside, I think you will see Bonzi swinging up to SF with some regularity next year, assuming no further moves. He is tough and very strong, and really represents a reincarnation of Jimmy Jackson for us, who rick obviously used so much at SF that he squished Hedo. But in this case itr might be a good thing -- Bonzi swings up, and it gives time for the kids to play OG. Have real doubts either one of those ultra-skinny guys can play any real SF except against very specific matchups. Most nights they would be giving up 30+ lbs.

For all the Bonzi haters you also have to look at it this way too. He is still an expiring contract. So if he bombs, he simply gets shipped at the deadline, but trust me, that ain't gonna happen.
Finally we have a player that doesn't just shoot jumpers all day. He can play the post, drive hard to the basket, and give a cheap...er...I mean hard foul!.

Jimmy Jackson. Before that . . . Mitch Richmond I suppose, although the Rock only had one move (the fadeaway) once he was down in the blocks.

I'm sad to see Bobby go, not only was he instant offense off the bench, but he played with all his heart on both ends of the floor. I think I will miss his tenacious D more than anything. I know Bonzi can score, and looking at his stats he did average almost 1.7 steals for Portland in 02-03, but I am wondering if he really is a capable defender. The steals stat is a bit deceiving, Bibby averaged 1.6 last season and we all know what kind of defender he is.

Well, we have Bonzi in a contract year, so hopefully that translates into him minding his P's and Q's during the upcoming season at least.

However, this is just about the best thing that could realistically happen to the Kings at SG this offseason. We now have someone to put on Kobe, McGrady, Allen, etc. that won't stand by and let them take over. This is HUGE, in my opinion, for our defense. We seriously needed better perimeter defense and just got a ton better today.
Now if we get Evans or some guy that can really bring some more interior toughness, I think we are in for an entirely different kind of season next year.

The only thing about this trade thats gonna bug me is I can't help but stare at that gigantic mole on Bonzi's face.. Who knows maybe "The Mole" holds the success to our future..

Man, I know this trade is really great,, but I miss Bobby jackson already. But, for you guys, bobby wasnt that good last year. His shot is WAY off which is not good, but he is very speedy and can do defense. Negatives are he is getting old, and MANY injuries. This trade was obvoiusly for the better but I will still miss bobby. I know he has a GREAT personality and Bobby will always be a King. He was one of ,y favorite Kings but hopefully he will do well in Memphis. I wish him all the best.

Think Cisco can still be useful despite the minutes cruch as a 1/2/3 sneaking in for minutes whereever there is an opening. Kevin is the iteresting question here. He's really pretty much a pure OG. But as I mentioned, maybe if we swing Bonzi up to SF ala Jim Jackson it will clear minutes at the OG for Kevin to get some time.
