I agree that we don't want him, is it possible to sell the rights we have on him to somebody else?

VF21 said:We hold his draft rights. I believe they can be disposed of in the same manner as the draft rights to any other player who has not yet reported to the team.
Heuge said:Why are his assist numbers so low. For his career he is about 2.0-3.0 per game, this year he is 1.4
How so?piksi said:They count assists differently in Europr
VF21 said:May I inquire as to your rationaliztion for that statement? If the Sacramento Kings or any other NBA franchise would be willing to pay to bring Dejan Bodiroga to the US and have him on their roster, why wouldn't they play him?
VF21 said:Darko Milicic is as good as Bodiroga? Hmmmmmm. And how old is Darko?
I'm not asking about Darko. I was quite specific in asking why a team like the Kings would bring a seasoned veteran player/Euro superstar to their team and not play him.
I don't think Darko fits the same mold. If he does, I've really got to read up more...

VF21 said:Veterans school newbies, regardless of how highly they're regarded, all the time. What exactly does that prove? Merely that veterans are wily and newbies have a lot to learn. And that's ALL it proves.
So the player being passed to has to take a dribble or dunk/layup to get an assist...piksi said:You do not get an assist for setting up a jump shot.

And yes, as a matter of fact, I have a plethora of words available to me. I simply choose to use "whatever" whenever I find it to be the most appropriate for the situation at hand.
You doubt he would get a chance to prove himself? May I inquire as to your rationaliztion for that statement? If the Sacramento Kings or any other NBA franchise would be willing to pay to bring Dejan Bodiroga to the US and have him on their roster, why wouldn't they play him?
Drazen spent a mere year and a half "rotting on the bench" behind players such as Ainge, Kersy, Drexler and Porter (for 12 mpg at that). Drazen got a fair shake from RA. You might want to take up this discussion in the Drazen thread, which is somewhere in the forums archieves.DeAtHrOw said:Let's just say that the same guy who's coaching Kings now coached Blazers and let one of the greatest European talents rot on the bench. Of course I am talking about Drazen Petrovic and our very dear Rick Adelman. Now I do understand that when Drazen came over times were different and the influx of European players had just begun however I do think that Dejan would be put under a microscope if he were ever to play for the Kings. Couple of "bad" moves and he'd be stuck to the bench for the rest of the game.
Sloter gave you a good example in Darko Milicic. Yes I do realize that he is much younger and that he was drafted purely on potential BUT you cannot cash in on that "potential" by having him sit on the bench and play 2-3 minutes every 10th game or so.

BobbyJ_for3! said:ive heard ALOT of GREAT things about Bodiroga. many people in here have called him a Euro legend, which sounds accurate. i think we should give him a chance over the summer to play on the kings, but i would have loved it so much for him to come over soon after peja and helped us win a championship
You learn something new everyday.piksi said:no dribble. You get an assist if player gets a lay up or a dunk.
I might be wrong here if they changed somethintg in the last year but other than that...

I thought an assist made if a player scores with 3 or less dribbles after the pass...but I am certainly no expert.piksi said:What is a college rule for an assist here?

That would be why I learned something new today, I did not know European bball calculated assists differently.piksi said:That would increase the # of assists, wouldn't it?
