Blake Grffin's dunk(s)

I felt like the latest dunk warranted a new thread...and many more to come. This guy is unbelievable. He's looking like the second coming of Shawn Kemp.
Amare compared Blake to himself but Blake actually rebounds.

I fully support a Blake Griffin Dunk thread. That guy .. is amazing.

I wonder how long he'll play in the NBA with that style. Has to take a toll on his body. Is there a more exciting basketball player right now though? Im not sure there is.

Oh my goodness gracious. This guy is breath taking to watch. I can't believe he gets up there like that. He def. is a reincarnation of Shawn Kemp, no doubt about it.

One does have to wonder. That type of explosiveness does seem to take its toll on a player's knees, as evidenced by Amare (explosiveness followed by knee surgery followed by less explosiveness) and Webb (pretty much Blake Griffin before Blake Griffin followed by unfortunately timed knee explosion followed by groundbound perimeter play). Griffin already had to have knee surgery though so one could say that he has already had his obligatory debilitating injury or, on the contrary, that the style is already taking its toll.

Do you guys think he'll end up in the all-star game?

I mean whats the ruling with rookies making the All-star? it would be a crime if he doesn't quite frankly, I mean people buy tickets for this guy.

It really depends on where certain other players are classified. If Duncan is classified as a 4, then his chances drop significantly as he and Dirk are locks for a spot at 4 in the All-Star Game in that case. He'd also have to deal with Kevin Love, who has been having an absolute monster year when Rambis isn't benching him, as well as the crappy NBA All-Star position system (3s and 4s are grouped together).

Scola and Milsap are also having awesome seasons as well. I think Griffin will be in the same boat as Reke was last year. He's have a good enough season to but his position is simply too stacked.

Well atleast he'll play in some game, it doesn't matter which.. All-star game is the definition of Blake Griffin :D

btw preety sure they left Millsap out of the ballot for some odd reason, go figure:confused:

Its pretty cool that we got the new King of Dunks and King of Layups in the same class... but lets not forget the King of passing, Ricky Rubio... lol

Don't ned to be on the ballot to be voted into the game by the league as a sub.

I would just like to state for the record that before he was drafted, there was discussion going on about his athleticism. The general consencus was that he's not as athletic as a guy like Amare, or that he doesn't have absolute top level athleticism. I was the one that said he was even more athletic than Amare, and stronger too. Been proved right. Guy is a freak of nature.

[/bragging rant]

Stronger yea, but Amare was quicker and just as athletic before his injury imo.

The impressive thing is like you said, Griffin is heavier and stronger yet he still manages to leap out of the building with ease.
