Yes you can balme Kobe. Having the no trade is one thing. Abusing it is another.
It is not abuse if the sex, um, I mean, the contract is consensual.

What good is power is you can't abuse it? Heck in the end I still say Captain Mitch and Dr. Buss KNEW who they were dealing with when they wrote the paper. He was holding the franchise hostage demanding Shaq go, demanding a no trade clause etc... This is like someone taking a job as secratary to Naomi Camble then being surprised when they get hit upside the head with a cell phone! Hell Stevie Wonder could have seen this mess comming.Yes you can balme Kobe. Having the no trade is one thing. Abusing it is another. There is some sort of gentleman's agreement there when somebody gives you a power that nobody else has -- namely that you won't use it to screw over the person who gave it to you.
Which is again why it is such a good thing for Kobe that I don't own that franchise. I would damage my franchise to squash his career. You're concerned about your prime going down the tubes Kobe? See how it feels to sit out the last of your prime years at the back of the bench. You cause trouble, you won't get paid for it either. And if at some point you want to get reasonable, you can indicate it to me by walking into my office on your knees and kissing my ***.

Of course this in no way detracts from the Koblets responsablity for his own behavior but I am sory the Lakers problems come from bending over for Kobe in the first place then beliving he would never do it to them again.
They chanted Kobe! at the United Center whilst losing to the Sixers. Thoughts?
The thing is he's not just any old player. IMO this guy is the best in the league right now, and one of the best that the NBA has ever had. If you just go around squashing his career, the whole basketball world is gonna hate you. On the other hand, while Kobe is using his no trade what not, he's still playing for the Lakers. If he doesn't want to be traded to that team, he's still going to play and play well for the Lakers because he's a professional. I don't see anything wrong with him
Thoughts are, I want Tyrus Thomas.
Well, the Bulls are now 0-3 with losses to the powerhouses Nets, 76ers and Bucks. They scored a whopping 72 points against the Bucks last night. I wonder if this makes Paxon think "hmmm, a 3 team deal that lands us Kobe?"
Yeah at this point I really wish he had not opened his mouth with that pseudo-guarantee that nothing was going to happen. because maybe it stil can if all parties are open.
The rest depends on who it was that scuttled the three team deal, if it was there. If it was the Bulls not wanting to send us Thomas or some such, well maybe their start changes their mind (although he did have a big game in there). But if it was us, obviously that's...well dumb. And if it was the Lakers, they might feel like their own bargaining position vis a vis their Deng demand might have gotten stronger.
Another thing I wondered about while watching Barrea scorch us the other night in Dallas -- if that kid can play like that on anightly basis, could the Mavs get back into it with Howard and a suddenly expendable Harris?
I would love to have ben gordon. wait, i would kill to have ben gordon.
What about a trade involving Atlanta where we get back Shelden Williams? The boy can rebound, and block shots. He is listed at 6'9 but he has extremely long arms. This is the PF we need. Whenever the Hawks give the guy 30+ minutes he gives them 10+ boards, and a block or three!
The Hawks have Josh Smith, and now Hoford.. I think Williams might be expendable. They can bring in Bibby until Law takes the Reigns in a couple years.
Just a thought. We can ask for Childress as well.
I am not letting this go.
The Bulls lost again tonight scoring only 71 points against the Raptors and got beat by 30. These guys have a lot of young talent, but just are not that good. Paxson needs to revive the talks.
Send Deng and Gordon + filler to the Lakers.
Send Kobe and Artest to the Bulls.
Give us either Thomas or Noah + filler.
Hinrich, Kobe, Artest and Wallace in the same line-up = a very good team.
I am not letting this go.![]()
Does anybody know how much Ben Gordon is making?
I can’t help but smile everytime I look at this trade scenario. I would hope they revive the trade idea and call Geoff and make it happen. The Chicago crowd is chanting Bryant’s name. Lets do it! Send Artest to Chicago and let's get Ben Gordon and Tyrus Thomas.

How would the Bulls end up with both Artest and Kobe? I thought the idea was Kobe to the Bulls with Artest to LA...
What did I miss?
Isn't PJ a free agent?! I don't think he has a contract with the Bulls! If the Bulls give up Deng, I think they'd want compensation.
It'd go something like:
TThomas, PJ Brown to the Kings
Artest, Kobe to the Bulls
Hinrich, Gordon, Deng to the Lakers
$4.8 million, according to si.com

Thanks for the help.
I was thinking the same as what HighFlyingMonkey said...Deng gets sent to L.A and because Kobe wants another good, powerful player around him, we send Artest (who Kobe wanted to play with) and we get Gordon & Thomas (if it's possible).
