Yes, turning to this guy... He's not very proven, and probably can't pry him away from Grizzlies - being their only center now with Wright an FA. How about him? Watching the Grizzlies regularily, I really liked what I saw from him in the 2nd half of last season. Taking away Wright's minutes, and being a good prescence, blocking shots, scoring down low some, and getting boards. Really big at 7'2", and Muss I'd say knows him well.

Who knows, another possible option for us...

I know, just throwing him out there... Pryzbilla is likely going to the Spurs, then there's only a few guys that I can see realistically trading for, and Wright left on the FA market. Not really starters... Ely/Cato/Elson, more back-up/limited role guys.

Petrie's gotta pull something off though, like he often does.

Well, I haven't seen any of him until this year, and what I said above I saw from watching the Grizzlies regularily this past season. And he was effective as their starting center for the 2nd half, liked what I saw. Some of what he did there, it didn't always show up in the stat sheet, because he changed or prevented shots with his size

But once again, I'm just bringing it up as a possible option for us.

Usually when he played (obviously excluding November), he was okay-solid-good on the year. Minutes increased each month except for January. Played the most and regularily in the 2nd half of the season...

I got a chance to watch a few Memphis games last season and he really was altering a lot of shots and actually using his size to his advantage. Like Brick says, you can't teach size.

Yea I would like him as a backup if we couldnt get anyone better. Obviously, the Grizzlies also liked him more than lorenzon wright towards the end of the season too

I have several problems with Jake not the least of which is the immage of Webber pasing HIMSELF the ball behind Jakes back in a play off game. He may never look THAT dumb again but he has yet to look bright.

Guess you're just being ignorant toward what's been said here about him, and proven. Just stated what I've seen from him this season, which is a bunch, and showed what I meant by numbers and explaining how he uses his size.

I'm just putting him out there as a suggestion for back-up center. Not a main guy or really good player.

Jake showed a lot of what he can do in the playoffs last season. He blocked shots, scored a little, and got rebounds. I would be happy if we got him as one of the last options in free agency.
