Beno!

From what I've read not too many discounted Beno's talent. It was mainly his focus that was at question. Remember, he was JUST let go from his old team for a reason. It's too early to let him off the hook on that yet... let's keep him honest and keep him accountable. I have no doubt he could be big for us if we keep him on a short leash...
Indeed. Spurs fans dislike him a lot, and that's putting it nicely. Supposedly he's lazy, soft, out-of-shape, doesn't work on his game enough, dumb, and partakes in the party scene too much. They also joke about the possibly many Udrih Jr's running around SanAnton.

He's made comments reminiscent of Vassilis Spanoulis that I thought were LOL.

He should a get clean slate here in Sac, but the criticism of not being a hard worker is hard to ignore. I wonder if he knew about Theus road game curfew beforehand. That might cramp his style going by his rep.

What comments did he make? I dont see how you can top "I was the T-Mac of Greece"

Good point. Petrie has been able to find true gems on occasion. Remember, Bobby Jackson wasn't playing when Petrie found him, either.
VF21, might you mean Jim Jackson? I'm pretty sure that he wasn't playing when the Kings picked him up during the season (was it 5 years ago now?).

Again, that's with me doing no research, just replying on the fly.

"I should be starting, i'm good enough", "I should get more minutes, i deserve it"

There's a reason why many knowledgeable Slovenian fans who join Spurs fans forum denounce his lazy attitude & partyaholic, as they thought he could be the future star of their NT -luckyly, Dragic has given their hope up again.

PS: To make it clear, no, he doesn't act like a cancer in the Spurs internal, in fact he's a nice guy for which has been liked as a teammate. But those comments are true, actually brought up by Slovenian poster in our forum, coming from a local slovenian paper after an interview with beno.

We were impressed and enjoyed watching him. Great performance, especially considering how little time he has had with the team. Beautiful passing!

I think it's way too early to judge his assists, considering he had never even played 5-on-5 with the Kings. As Koz and crew said in HPL, he did a good job of distributing AND only had one turnover in 26 minutes.
Not a point guard? Did you watch the same game I did? He's a PURE point guard.
Absolutely! He looks like a classic point guard to me. Just what the doctor ordered. (or was it the healer that lives deep in the forest?)

No, I meant Bobby Jackson. He might have been in talks in July but he didn't sign a contract until Aug. 1. A whole bunch of teams completely overlooked the future NBA 6th man. Petrie basically picked him up for a song in terms of NBA salaries.

The Kings have traditionally been a second-chance team for a lot of players who went on to make the most of the opportunity. And we, the Kings fans, give players a clean slate when they step onto our court for the first time. It isn't what he did or didn't do in the past that matters. It's what he does from this point forward that will determine how we look at him.

After Artest, we're well aware of the baggage players can bring with them but he's in a whole new world now - and I have to hope he'll make the most of it.

He actually dictates tempo well and plays under control, which is great for us and exactly what we need in a time when one-on-one play has taken precedence in some of our players' minds. But in terms of assist-making, I think he's okay for a combo guard, but he's definitely not at a point guard level in court vision. He'll do a little bit of everything which includes passing within the flow, shooting mid-rangers and threes and playing okay defense without causing many problems, but in terms of helping our team improve the 12 assists that we only had today as a team...not really the guy. But he did play well today and was a breath of fresh air, so props to him. =]
Please, go get you percriscription changed.

@VF21, i really hope he can turn around his fortune with your team, he HAS the tools and talent to become atleast a decent NBA back up PG. Too bad he doesn't pan out as a Spur -after a 1st #pick and time investment in him, but he is a decent guy so i wish him the best of luck.

I have seen it hundreds of times. alot of players don't pan out until their second team. Maybe we are finally beneficiaries of that. Remember Gerald Wallace or even Ben Wallace.

I'm wasn't arguing with you, I'm just nitpicking. And no, you didn't "say" Detroit, but Wallace didn't exactly "pan out" in Orlando, either.

You guys sure like to argue. I'm glad Kings finally have a PG.
So I'm gathering this is the only sports message board you've ever visited... Arguing? This is so calm and reserved compared to what goes on at some websites it could more aptly be called "discourse" than argument.

People come to message boards to debate the pros and cons of their favorite team. They don't come just to see everyone post the occasional "QFT" or "lol"... Any idiot can do that.

The people here may disagree - and quite strongly at times - but they have, for the most part, one thing in common. They are truly fans of the Sacramento Kings!

Beno was pure bueno. The minute he had the ball in his hands you could feel that he was filling a void that needed filling badly. He has huge potential, being that he hasn't had a chance to get used to his new team. I predict Beno will get the starting PG nod in the next few weeks.

While it's a little too early to tell what kind of presence Beno will have consistantly there is no doubt that the TEAM played mych better once an established PG hit the floor and Beno looked dam good out there running th offense. I am pleasently surprised.

I don't care if he proclaims himself Emperor the Universe and King of the Flying Invisible Armadillos. If he can bring a pure point guard presense to the court every night the way he did last night, I'll help anoint him.

Exactly!! I did not want to presume that he will every be as great as the original BB King though. I suppose we could just call him King Bueno Beno or King BB.

:p
