Bee today - Scott Howard-Cooper's take on trades

I don't know if I've ever been more ready for a trade to go down. I was ready for the Bibby trade, ready for the Artest trade, but the current combination of suckitude and young guys not getting minutes has made this trade deadline especially angst-ridden for me.

I couldn't have said it better myself!

I've been speculating about how to get one of those big enders since last spring, mostly Marbury and Wally, but whatever. But if you squint real hard here and begin talking about getting TWO of them at once, you could totally turn around the financial fortunes of this team. Note I said "financial" as opposed to the actual product on the floor. But if you really could get two of them, you could potentially clear out almost all of the bad contracts that have been weighing on us like an anvil in one big rush.

And I'm right there with you both. I keep checking for updates several times a day, praying there's a trade going down for just the reasons you have stated nbrans.

lol you too huh? I am constantly checking for info. My buddy doesn't work for the Kings anymore so I cannot bug him. DOH!

Our father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Let new Kings come, and let our will be done, on our court, with a little help from heaven. Forgive us our past mistakes, as we forgive all those, who don't wish to play here. Lead us not into bad contracts, but deliver us to finanical security. Now, and before the hour of the deadline.;)

Nice - as long as the lightning bolts only hit you and not the rest of us. :p

the sad part is that we should have made those moves last season.... but nobody wanted marbury, they wanted beno to be extended.... nobody wanted wally..... no one wanted any 2009 enders. i was so down with trading bibby and thomas to the knicks for marbury... hell we couldve thrown in miller too for rose and some other trash... no one wanted pau gasol, though we all wanted odom...

Didn't want Marbury last year and still don't want him anywhere near the Kings. And Pau Gasol? Since when was HE even on the table for us? He wasn't going to come to Sacramento, dude.

Revisionist history may be fun but it's not very accurate.

Why are you so worried about Marbury? I would assume if he's traded for he would never even suit up.

This year, yes. But last year? You don't pick up a guy that expensive a year ahead of time just to be an ender....for that much $$$ he would have been on the court....

before the trade to the lakers everyone knew he was available but people kept saying that he was too soft. i brought up the idea of trading for him back in the offseason but no one wanted any part of it. marbury wouldve been a good trade since the knicks are paying him to not play.

Just because you thought it was a good idea doesn't mean there was actually a trade on the table to make. Grizzlies wanted enders, which we didn't have.
