Kings Notes: Newcomers are settling into place on the floor
Mikki Moore and rookie Spencer Hawes have picked up their play in recent games.

The debate over whether Ron Artest should be the Kings' starting power forward will continue, partly because the team's incumbents have struggled but also because going small is the new way of the NBA.
Kings coach Reggie Theus has opted, however, to remain conventional with his lineup, while introducing elements that include Artest working in the post into his offense. As the mini-project continues, Theus' silver lining is the recent play of forward Mikki Moore and rookie center Spencer Hawes.
Moore has finally shown glimpses of the style that helped earn him a three-year, $17 million deal during the summer ($12 million guaranteed). He has converted putbacks and gone two consecutive games without a turnover. The most important turn of events has come in his ability to hold onto the ball and make things happen even though his former teammate, New Jersey point guard Jason Kidd, isn't around to make it so easy...
