Beat that HORNET!

they should really consider changing their name to "hornet" since there is only one guy playing tonight. ;) -- in any case, lousy first quarter, but the game was just as i suspected. it was a good game to get our practice in for tues. though. the wizards will be a much better match. tag impresses me more and more each game. - darius, as well. he did alright starting tonight.

how bout those southwest airline commercials? hahahaha.

nice game

It was a good game to watch....tag's blocks were beastly and darius had a good game and even maurice evans was impressive....good job kings!!

36 point win geez...and i dont think our starters played at all in the 4th. I feel sorry that the hornets got moved to the west b/c they really have no chance to be a big force in the east. We deffinitely needed to beat this team. if we didnt..then maybe we would be like the lakers when they lost to the bulls..all and all still a great game...and we outrebounded them. ostertag may prove his critics worng...ya never know.

wow, 40 pts differential. is this some kind of records? excellent effort and determination.
10 years ago or so we won two straight games by 50 or so, if my memory serves me well.

I wasn't kidding myself..in 1992 we won by 58 against Dallas and then the next game we won by 56.

i really hate to rain on such a wonderful parade, and i dont know if this has been brought up in any of these recent threads, but i have to say that (while i am very satisfied with the way the kings played tonight, despite how horrible NO played), i am a little discouraged by webb's physical status. i don't know if he's being overly cautious or what, but i gotta believe that if his knee keeps getting sore every other week, he's not gonna make it to the end of the season, let alone the playoffs, in the health we will absolutely need him to be in. granted, it makes sense for him to be cautios and take a night off against a team as depressingly bad as the hornets, but i still am a little discouraged at the fact that he has sat out 2 games now on account of soreness in his knee. if his knee is sore 23 games into the season, how's it gonna hold up in the playoffs, when he wont be able to take a night off?! :(

hmmmmmm.....

Notice the games though -- quite frankly I do not WANT him out there vs. the Hornets or Bobcats. What's the point? Rest the knee. Save some wear and tear. Given Webb's history every minute saved is a good minute.

The knee will never EVER be right, or close to it really. Webb has already had the single most successful recovery from this particualr surgery amongst any professional basketball player that I know of, which should tell you a bit about how the other guys have done. Hopefully over time the recurring swelling will go down a bit. But that's about the best that can be hoped for -- they opened up his knee, scraped all the cartilage out, drilled a bunch of holes into the surrounding bone, and waited/hoped that the blood dripping in from the surrounding bone would congeal to form a replacement pseudo-cartilage. That's no fun. In the meantime the big key is just not to have anything catastrophic happen. No reinjuries. Skip practices, games against weak opponents, whatever you can do to lighten the load. As long as he is not missing important games with any regularity, the real key is just how he performs on the court.
