At what point is Mike

NOT going to take the last shot in every game? I know he can be clutch, but damn, it IS a 5 man game. Let Brad take a sweet jumper or, heaven forbid, SAR (shooting, what, 2nd best percentage in the whole league, IIRC) take it to the hole. Everyone knows Mike's taking the last shot in about EVERY close game now. I want to see a nice pass for a layup or a 3 instead of Mike taking them all....

It was a clutch shot by Mike that even got us close. Bibby ran down the rebound and got the ball with 3.3 seconds left. It had to be a three-point shot to even tie the game. Considering Adelman didn't call for the time out and he was right next to Bibby when Mike took possession, there really wasn't any other option available. You sure didn't want to pass to Peja for a three attempt, did you?

Should have posted Reef on the last possession of the 4th...no doubt about it.

But Miller couldn't get an open shot all night. I agree with Piksi...Bibby dribbles around getting screens at the top for so long that when he does pass it to someone, it's usually with 4 or 5 on the clock and they can do nothing. So, it ends up back in Bibby's hands for a contested jumper.

Maybe it is just me but I can swear that I see other NBA teams dribble the clock down AND move the ball around for the last shot. When Bibby is told to dribble the clock down, he thinks it means go one on one.

Yes, a Miller pass on a broken play in which Rick Adelman -- you know, the coach of the team -- wanted to try to get Mike the last shot.

There are enough legitimate deficiencies in Mike's game to get worked up about, I don't think that selfishness is a problem.

Kobe keeps the ball and takes his team's last second shots too. All great clutch players do. But Mike hasn't been MAKING them, and that is where the problem comes in. He's been close enough where you can still see it in him -- he wants it, and is absolutely looking to make it. But if its not going in...well, can only go on for so long before you look elsewhere. Problem is that our "elsewhere" guy went down in the first quarter.

Also, the amount of time left on the clock seems to be rising with each post. I only watched the play one time through, but I believe it was closer to the 3 second mark when Mike rebounded the ball, and closer to the 2.3 second mark when he got full control of the rebound.

I'm assuming on that play that Rick did not want Mike to call timeout because he thought he could get a better look in the flow than by letting the Bobcats set their defense.

I am not singling him out as the cause of our problems, but in the last couple games he has taken the last 3 buzzer beaters after dribbling out the clock (maybe with one pass so he can get the ball back quickly) and he has missed all 3. I like Mike, but I think he is getting very predictable as he feels the need to take EVERY last second shot. Every one. All long-range jumpers. I admire the confidence, but MOVE THE DAMN BALL OCCASIONALLY at the end of a game.

Bonzi wasnt in the game. He hurt his groin in the first quarter. I would rather have Mike take a the clutch shot then to have Peja airball one 2 feet away from the rim. You have to think that Mike doesnt always call his own number. Adelman usually has mike inbound the ball so it usually is a play ran out of the huddle. If Bonzi was in the game I'm sure that the play would have been run a little more differently.
