Well of course he is. Mike Bibby is gone and Ron Artest is now picturing himself as leader of the merry little band of Kings.
That, more than anything else, should get the trade talks heating up for an Artest move before the deadline. We all KNOW that wanting to stay in Sacramento and saying you want to stay in Sacramento is pretty much the same as buying your ticket out of town...
With Bibby gone, can Artest be far behind?

My initial reaction was "What, and you didn't send them to Arco where we could really use that?"
But then I thought about how rebounders do in Sac. I could see how you wouldn't want to put a family member in that position.

Ron is Ron. This is much preferable to "The team would be better without me".
Most importantly, if GP cannot work a trade (and he may not be able to), at least Ron is not emotionally already gone. He is commited to playing hard on this team at least until he opts out. Seems to me that it could be much worse.

Well...as much as I'd love to keep Ron here long-term, and as much as this article paints a semi-rosey picture of the state the Kings and Ron post-Bibby trade, that being said...I think he's a gonner now.

This was before the trade. After a string of victories, Stein wrote that in one of his Power Rankings. Obviously, I need to have the sig changed soon.

I think I take it back. After listening to Amare gush about how irresistible his personality, swagger and aura are (while firing his managers for somehow not being able to market such a loveable douchebag), maybe Ron ain't so bad after all. Certifiable, sure....

What Ron says really doesn't matter. I don't dislike him, but I hope he's traded before the deadline. Unfortunately, I can't see GP moving two of our starters in the space of a few days. Just don't resign Ron at the end of the year.

My question is, we still aren’t a .005 Team and he’s saying he wants to win the ring this year. I don’t mind the guys passion but I wonder what kind of math he was doing at the time of the article? Maybe the guy is really excited about the new players we just got *shrugs* Trade Ron to the Bulls. Lets go Petrie.
