I for one will try and be at his first game in Sacramento, and I will yell loud and applauded fervently.
Word. Seems like so many were happy yesterday, now they hate Artest. Seems like he hurt a lot of feelings on this board.

OK this is getting extremely annoying. If this trade does go through now, I don't know if Artest will really be willing to come here and play hard or he'll just mope around and start requesting a trade again. Either way I'm glad he'll end up coming here, but I have a feeling nothing good will come out of this
Artest said that he will play hard in SAC "Jim Gray said on ESPNNEWS"

One of the few level headed responses. For all we know, it was a miscommunication spun wildly by the media. It was a feeding frenzy last night and they could have jumped the gun. Ron said where he wanted to play (LA or NY), but he said he'd play where ever he was traded to. Did everyone forget that?

I hope he will stay and play so he is able to see exactly what type of fans Sacramento has. (although most now are still stinging from what happened yesterday) Give it time, this after all a game. Ron brings what this team needs.
Indiana has absolutely great fans who supported Ron beyond all reason...so this will make a difference how?

I still hope Maloofs will say "You rejected us yesterday,we are rejecting you today"!
But that won't happen...
Faith dies in the end so,Peja is still a King for me

Try reading what most Pacers fans think about him. Even ones who were his die-hard supporters thru thick and thin. The venom is quite stunning.

just now on ESPN NEWS...they are saying the first call went very well between the maloofs and artest. He said he would put out a tremendous amount of effort. Ron Artest is calling them back as we speak for the Kings final decision.

It's coming out now all the BS was Marc Stevens Artest's agent. He backed off his statements considerably and is starting to say he didnt say a lot of what he siad. Artest was not reluctant.

This is what I have also said repeatedly--its not the fans/city/coach/management that makes Ron stay calm, etc.--its Ron himself. He had tremendous support here in Indy--as he will also have in Sactown. Perhaps the change of scenery, and having only played in about 30 games since 2003-2004 will help.

Technically we granted him that power by backing out yesterday. He was the one who nixed it too. In normaland you just go through wiht the deal and ignore the player's complaints, if he has them. Since we are not in normal land, we let him nix the deal, then turned around and let him re-greenlight it. Always an element of enabling in cases like this.
I'm sure the rest of the kings players have noticed this as well. Let's see, the guy who has played the most games with your team gets notified via national tv of a trade. The criminal moron who has been suspended last 2 years gets coddled. This stinks. I can't stand this guy. It's a good thing I can't afford tickets, or I might boo him every time he gets on the court.

If he is initiating the call that could be a good sign. If his agent was full of it, he needs walking papers. He didn't do his client any favors.

Yes, I think its a probably a good thing you cannot afford tickets.

If they do make the trade today and can finalize it before the game, let him play and hog the ball....its been a common trend this season for ball hogs anyhow. That would probably get his confidence up, specially against NY. Hell, this is "bring up your career best in points" year....Bibby just did it, not to mention Mr 81 and others

I personally am not an Artest fan but will support him should he become a King.. but he better play up to everybodys standards/expectations and prove to be more productive than Peja

Thank you! Artest leaves a mess wherever he goes. People talk about what a great player he is. Since when? 3 seasons ago? He has barely played at all these last two season, not because of injury, but because of behavior that is so offensive and destructive that he can't be allowed on the court! I'm just sick.

I don't think he would play for a couple games. Or at least one. Both players have to get a physical etc.

While I don't condone booing someone for problems they may have had before coming to the Kings, I certainly agree with the rest of your post.

I will not boo Ron Artest but I don't intend to stand and cheer with reckless abandon the first time I see him in Arco. He can EARN that by keeping his mouth shut and putting it all out there and proving he's worthy of even wearing the uniform.

I love this team; I do not love Ron Artest. If he can prove me wrong, more power to him.

And I won't soon forget the abysmal treatment Peja has received during this debacle. Everything else aside, no employee deserves the jerking around and emotional roller coaster he's been on recently. It sucks...

And so we'll possibly lose ANOTHER game directly because of Artest and his soap opera drama. I honestly think this might be the first time our franchise has lost a game because of someone who isn't even on the team yet.

I completely agree with this post. Peja was treated like trash throughout this whole thing

I think that is something that comes with being a player in the nba and making the money these guys do. Its not a traditional employer/employee relationship.

Agree with your post 100%. Peja deserved a better parting.

Still nothing on the Kings site...Peja is still a King.
I have a bad headache and would like this thing to be resolved as soon as it's possibile.
It sounds pretty stupid that Artest rejected Kings yesterday and now when he wants to come here Maloofs can't wait...Like Artest has control of Peja's and Kings destiny.

If I were the Kings mgmt I would remind Artest that he has a real bad reputation all over the NBA. He should go to the Kings, play hard and make nice for this season and the next, rebuild his trade value, and then the Kings will trade him, with his input, if he wants to leave in 2007.

Even Artest decides to leave in 2007 he should have a high trade value, supposing he rights himself. Artest gets a chance to wipe the slate (partially)
clean, a player friendly coach in RA, and the opportunity to have a say in where he will be traded to. OTOH, if he continues to be an f-up, no dice, your NBA career is toast, Ronny.

That's win-win, and it's got a kicker to keep Ronny straight.

I'm sure the Kings, Pacers, AND the league had this conversation with Ron. It COULD work out well for us...then again, it could blow up in a large fiery explosion right in front of our eyes.

I don't know how I feel yet. I'm eager for a change, but I do regret how this went down.

Why is every body so confused about this artest trade. We need a change and things can't get any worst, we might as well do it. And if we could reform wells why can't we do it with artest. And also it would be interesting how wells and artest react to each other, 2 career trouble makers on one team, that is what i see most interesting that no one is talking about if this trade goes down.
